Maybe get someone to lend you $15? I know it's a bit much for a patch, but if I want to get the nice ones I do think I have to get them custom ordered to add an extra character and make them a bit longer. We still have to see who all would actually be on board to buy them, so far I've only got about 20 people registered, and 3 who are buying. A group order seems most plausible, but it's always still a possibility to just buy the $8.50 ones.
