Souvlaki is most definitely the best shoegaze album. In fact slowdive is probably the best shoegaze band. Nowhere by Ride is great too, great album
However only shallow is still one of the best shoegaze songs out there, opening moments of loveless are just fantastic and Isn't Anything is a great shoegaze album and so is their new one, without a doubt
MBV aren't really god-tier and are definitely overhyped by like pitchfork and stuff but they're still a great band

MBV are a really interesting band in terms of how they evolved, imo. Loveless isn't the most terrible memorable album but it has some great tunes (dat Sometimes) and is just generally great to wind down to.
Souvlaki on the other hand feels much more developed in terms of its songwriting and lyrics.
