Saw a 'local' band yesterday named Ordinary By Day, they were really good and remind a lot of Mumford & Sons, though much like them while they keep a fantastic quality overall, they get a bit repetitive.
That's the curse of the folkey bands really.
So I'm in a Japanese restaurant spending a billion dollars on lunch when a give for fighting song comes over the speakers really loud
I didn't even know anyone remembered five for fighting
one of our local musicians is a lumpen, possibly mentally ill man in his mid 40's who makes upbeat dance music and plays a keytar.
another interesting one is this weird norwegian guy who bears an uncanny resemblence to the grim reaper and does drone covers of beatles songs sometimes.

This mouse is fucking dying. I will watch it take it's last breath.
If I buy music on iTunes, can I download it as mp3 and store it and play it wherever I want?
btw I somehow managed to post this in 2 other threads before I clicked the correct one :v:

itunes don't sell mp3s, they do AAC only which imo is the next level mp3. You can do what you like with the file.

So I just watched Song City, Dave Grohl's new Documentary.
You guys need to fucking watch it. It's INCREDIBLE. 100% on Rotten Tomatoes with like 30 reviews. It's a great documentary.

Can anyone recommend me a good guitar headphone amp? I can't use a proper amp in my flat. I've been looking at the Voxel amPlug, but it would be nice if someone who have actually tried a headphone amp could give me some suggestions.

i'm tired
but yes sound city
song city seems more appropriate given their extensive catalog but regardless

The thing with "local music" in Seattle is it usually means some guy with some instrument popping up somewhere and playing. Usually you see them where there's a buttload of people, like around Westlake. And usually they're pretty good - there was one nice old guy who played a pretty damn nice violin cover of Here Comes The Sun.
no one has heard of any of those bandds dude
I know Skalmold , Red Fang and Sólstafir...the rest I have heard the names before so....
Sydney has a good music scene, it's weird though because there's this spot outside the flagship Myer store which for some reason always has the most interesting buskers and people playing
One time I found a guy busking there who was about 60, Indian and carted around a bunch of traditional indian instruments hooked up to a huge fucking pedalboard and he was making some of the best ambient drone I've ever heard, it was amazing - wish I remembered his name. Apparently he makes his living travelling around the world on foot with his music set, and makes his money that way.
Scotland has a man who dresses up as a Giraffe and plays the bongos.
hull's music scene, like i've said before, is in a p. sorry state. Only two or three proper music venues now and all of them are on borrowed time. There's an open mic circuit but little more than that. The student unions going corporate in the 90's was a serious blow to the music scene here and its never really recovered
Our music scene is a single AC/DC tribute band

Wow, must suck. AC/DC isn't even a good band.
