Number out of 100 given at the end of high school for students which determines what university they go to
as a ballpark rate, the max ATAR is 99.95, and Atars above 90 can make you eligible for degrees like medicine, law, physiotherapy and some of the more advanced engineering courses. Getting into arts is like 60 or so at a lot of unis and there's a bunch of degrees in between that
If you get below 30 you get a * instead of a number, meaning you can't go to uni but you do get free drinks at one of my local pubs so there's a silver lining to everything
