Any tips writing a music review blog? I'm trying to shoot for one album a day with brief 3-5 sentence reviews and a final " you should listen/not listen/listen if you like x. " Is that a bad idea?
No, just review how you want. But don't drag it out or it gets boring to read.
new machinae supremacy album confirmed for october 19th im so happy~~~~~~~~
They're one of those bands that I seem to hear about once a year. I've never met anyone who's actually been that into them though, they're like the equivalent of Shadows Fall, an eternal support band
I went to see Defeater today. A girl complimented me on my Andrew Jackson Jihad shirt and spaghetti fell out of my pockets.
oh yeah forgot to mention that a sxe hardcore bro punched this one guy in the face for pushing moshers away. not cool.
my cumputer is brake :C Yeah, graphic card isn't running. I think my PSU has either been sending too much electricity or too little to it, cause I've had problems with the computer going black. So this sucks, no Guild Wars 2 for me :/ Guess I'll have to change up my lifestyle untill I can afford another computer. [editline]1st September 2012[/editline] Oh well, at the moment I can't bother worrying about it, don't have time for it anyway. Going to a festival tonight and I'm gonna get so drunk on sweet Jäger!
Hey guys, I'm going to do another mini-review album marathon! This time the albums (so far) are: Mutyumu - Ilya Nucleus - We'll Talk About It Later Mars Volta - Frances The Mute Machinae Supremacy - A View From The End of the World She - Chiptek Animals As Leaders - Animals As Leaders Nightwish - Imaginaerum EF - Give Me Beauty... Or Give Me Death I might add a few in, but those are it so far. Just like last time, I'll post mini-reviews here whenever I finish listening to an album and then, after I've listened to all of them, I'll compile all the mini-reviews to one post with pretty pictures. Wish me luck!
are you going to do a midi medley of them? :downs:
are you going to do a midi medley of them? :downs:
ow you hurt my feelings :( Seriously though, no. [editline]1st September 2012[/editline] Alright, done with the first album, Mutyumu's "Ilya" Great way to start the marathon. Very good album with a World's End Girlfriend -vibe. It starts off pretty fast and energetic, but the second half is more calm and relaxing. I'm glad that I finally decided to listen to this, I'll definitely have to check out Mutyumu's other stuff too. Next up is Nucleus' "We'll Talk About It Later" [editline]1st September 2012[/editline] Nucleus' "We'll Talk About It Later" was an alright jazz album. It had a good atmosphere and the instrumentation was great, even though not very memorable. The album did start to get a bit tiring towards the end, but it wasn't enough to make me feel like stopping the album. So, basically, it could've really used some more memorable parts and it'd be a much better album. And now begins Mars Volta's "Frances The Mute".
"Frances The Mute" by The Mars Volta is a pretty good prog rock album. It has some really great, complex stuff while still keeping a great sound going. There were some really annoying parts, such as the intro, which hurt the good sound and fluidity of the album. I do however really like how trumpets are implemented in some of the songs, though. After this, there's Machinae Supremacy's "A View From The End of the World". If you guys keep up the not-posting thing, I can fit all these mini-reviews into one post :v: And right as I say that it starts a new post instead of auto-merging to the last one... Oh well!
New Deftones album announced well release date. Nov 13th.
Bing Bang Boom make some room because its time for the mini review of Machinae Supremacy's "A View From The End of The World". Its a decent metal album with some chiptune elements. While it is quite good at what it does, it felt like a collection of songs instead of an album, which sadly is something that happens too often with modern metal. After watching some TV, I'll come back to review She's "Chiptek".
shit questions I know.. why do so many bands drop 'the' in their names e.g. foals? why do I see so many bland, 'indie' bands?
I don't think foals ever were the foals
shit questions I know.. why do so many bands drop 'the' in their names e.g. foals? why do I see so many bland, 'indie' bands?
They never were 'The Foals', and tbh I don't think too many bands do that. You see so many bland 'indie' bands because there's a lot of teenagers who like playing boring music while singing softly and incomprehensibly.
I can only think of a few bands who've dropped stuff from their name. Panic! At The Disco dropped the exclamation point, but brought it back.
Puff Daddy>P Diddy>Diddy. That's probably the best example.
Returned from watching The Moon and from listening to She's "Chiptek" Fucking loved every second of it. Incredibly upbeat chiptune music that really put me in a great mood. It's very well done and keeps a consistent quality throughout the sadly very short length. Sadly, its only 20 minutes long. But hey, that gives me more time to listen to it again! Next up, Animals As Leaders' self titled album.
