I'm not sure I can like Depeche Mode the amount I do and still go out with my girlfriend.
Dilemma.
Puff Daddy>P Diddy>Diddy. That's probably the best example.
good point. didn't think of diddy.
I guess they want some kinda attention from it idk. when Panic! dropped their exclamation point the teenage girls of the world talked about it forever.

I think some bands might do it to show a change in direction or something without completely changing their name but idk.
Animals As Leaders' self titled album was ok.
I was really expecting to like it more than I did, but I still enjoyed it.
The wall-of-sound mixing doesn't fit the album at all in my opinion, though.
Next up is EF's "Give Me Beauty... Or Give Me Death!", which will be tomorrow because I'm off to bed.
first machinae supremacy announcement, now this gets uploaded:

holy fucking shit i'm in heaven
I can only think of a few bands who've dropped stuff from their name.
Panic! At The Disco dropped the exclamation point, but brought it back.
MF DOOM is now just called DOOM, I think.
Dream On, Dreamer dropped the comma so it's just Dream On Dreamer now
I'm learning so much~
also just started breaking bad today.
fuck walt is a badass
DIe Antwoord is silly.
Hey I'm back and EF's "Give Me Beauty... Or Give Me Death!" was ok.
Its your basic post-rock album and doesn't try to do anything to really stand out.
If you're into that kinda stuff, then it might fit you, but otherwise its just ok.
Next up is Nightwish's "Imaginaerum". Probably going to be the last one of this marathon.
Dream On, Dreamer dropped the comma so it's just Dream On Dreamer now
Godspeed You! Black Emperor used to be Godspeed You Black Emperor! or something.
The new ! makes less sense.
Finished Nightwish's "Imaginaerum".
Decent symphonic metal with some incredibly pretentious lyrics.
Honestly, it was better than I expected.
Also, added 2 more albums to my list.
Next is Mouse On The Keys' "An Anxious Object".
whoa im excited about the first good album in your review batch
haha epic 4chan meme bro
apparently starting a sentence with the word "implying" is a meme nowadays gg
Got a little too drunk yesterday and went home earlier than I planned. Kind off a shame, but o well. Had my first group rave to a super sucky band atleast, good fun!
apparently starting a sentence with the word "implying" is a meme nowadays gg
it is the same way people get banned for saying TL;DR and ITT: @ ITN lol good job
implying memes!!!!!!!!!!
w/e you guys are just jealous because ur not as cool as me!!!11
Also, on an unrelated note (ahahaha music joke), Mouse on the Keys' "An Anxious Object".
Awesome, albeit short minimalistic math rock/jazz album, almost completely made with just a piano, drums and bass.
Loved it.
Last but not necessarily the least is Phideaux's "Doomsday Afternoon"
I have no internet in my new flat so I'm surfing from work. Woooo~
i think today will be a reviewing day
actually, pick an album from my ratings on RYM that i haven't reviewed and i'll review it

Hawkwind - Doremi Fasol Latido
king crimson - larks tongues in aspic
Last one: Phideaux's "Doomsday Afternoon"
One of the best prog rock albums I've heard in a while.
Epic atmosphere, well done mixing and instrumentation and fluid song changes make the album feel like one long epic adventure.
Its also nice to hear some female vocals in prog every now and then too.
Great way to end a great marathon.
Now I'll just finish up with the graphical versions of the reviews and I'll post it in the review thread!
doomsday afternoon is practically the only 00s prog album i like that is reminiscent of the 70s i think. the great leap wasn't good and apparently snowtorch is supposed to be ok, but i've been procrastinating
probably my favorite album name as well
ps https://dl.dropbox.com/u/10640235/doomsday.png have fun

Have you listened to Hypnos 69's Legacy? Its also a pretty good 70s style prog album.
Also, done with the graphical side, here it is!
