Ahhh Tumblr Feminists.
I like how they think they matter.
You realize that the blog this thread is about is satirical, right?

Where is the evidence for this? I want to believe it is, but the amount of images and posts about this staggering to the point of they-might-actually-be-seriousness.
its not poking fun at anything its just being silly
That's what you want to think, you don't know that, I don't know that, no one knows anything.

Are you seriously over-thinking this?

I don't get how doubting whether something is satire or not is overthinking.

If you take something like this at face value then you are p. gullible.
I admit I must be gullible then.
I really actually thought there were people this stupid.

I know.
They're still the plague of tumblr.
mate if you need your legs to be that wide open i don't understand how you walk without hurting your obviously titanic scrotum
Why are you assuming everyone is comfortable in the same position you are, are you part of the patriarchy trying to tear down the fabric of society?
well if yall noticed, majority of the posts are submitted. so either its actually a serious blog with a following, or this person is really trying hard to troll people. already sent in my hate mail, so its obviously now a serious blog.
Whenever I squeeze my balls together, my todger gets all hard but the women around me move away.
I for one spread my legs as far out as possible to allow for the large quantities of man sweat that accumulates around my balls to evaporate, producing a stench that oppresses all women who smell it, allowing me to assert my patriarchal dominance.
i never said everyone is comfortable in the same position, but if you spread your legs completely open you're just being rude and taking on more room than necessary, which is really fuckin annoying in public transport, because nobody's balls/dong/thighs are that gigantic
i don't get why everyone insists that spread eagle is the only position they're comfortable in
I sometimes spread my legs pretty far because I'm more comfortable that way sometimes, but, and I speak for myself and I'm sure most other people who sit that way as well, if the train I'm on becomes more crowded, I don't continue to sap free room, I make room if people are coming on that need a seat. The picture in the op shows a guy with plenty of room, and while you could assume that it's because he wouldn't let anyone sit there, you could much more easily assume that it just isn't a crowded train/bus/whatever.
I really get irked by this assumption that anyone who sits that way is either a rude asshole, or a patriarchal misogynist bent on reducing women to slavery.
Like, you can mock this, but it IS pretty fucking obnoxious when people spread their legs and force you to be cramped. We should all be a little more considerate of other people.
Although, as a few people've said here, there are most likely more effective ways of dealing with this
No idea what to even think about this.
On one hand, I wouldn't put this above Tumblr. It is a little ridiculous. And acts as more fodder for their rampant feminism.
On another hand, cramped quarters in public transportation is kind of shit, although I don't think it's JUST MEN that are responsible/at fault. Nearly everyone on public transport has the capacity to be a greedy douche when it comes to seating.
I do think it's a serious blog though which is a bit much.
Stuff like that annoys me to no end, I don't like being around people as is, now I have to worry about being shown as some oppressive douche because of how I sit?
If I notice someone taking a picture of me on a train or subway, I am now going to grab the device and throw it at the ground and possibly stomp on it.
I would hope most women wouldn't weigh 250+lbs. Of course a man is going to take up more room.

Reminds me of when a friend of mine tried to take a picture of a guy on a train because he had a purple beard and she accidentally left the flash on.
Awkward..
I just tried holding my legs together and got a boner. Fuck that on the train/bus. I'd rather take up two seats.

Yeah here's the thing though
How much is it people being douches as opposed to people not using their fucking words and asking someone politely if they can make some room.
Passive aggressive people are the fucking worst, really.

Well yeah, this also. I made a passing comment to a friend of mine about it saying something along the lines of 'I bet half the people who submitted these photos didn't even bother to ask if the person would move over'.
There are a few pictures which are pretty irritating though. I know I saw one where there was a woman who was squished between two men who were taking up two seats each which was a bit much. But again, that's only one example and one circumstance and is still not enough to blame every man ever for "spreading his legs" on a train/bus.
I swear people on Tumblr are just looking to be offended
This is not oppressive. This is like saying that white people are bad because they reflect more light and harmful UV rays.
We need to spread our legs because our scrotum sticks to our inner thighs. Do they think that we do this to take up space and show off our junk?

You don't understand the plight of the overweight.
Too many privileges.
your legs don't need to be that far apart to be comfortable
edit: if you guys really think you need to take up two seats to sit comfortably you are really the worst kind of people on public transport, i have balls and i think it's super rude to take up so much space
Well I'm happy for you for being free of discomfort while being able to sit with your legs relatively closed, but I for one need the fucking space to be comfortable. I'm a very figity person in general (I get the feeling I have like really sensitive nerve endings in my skin or something because even like my headphone chords brushing against me makes me tickle and start giggling) and I get super bugged with the way everything is sitting in my pants when I have my legs forming like anything less than like a 45 degree angle with one another. And no I'm not fat or anything, I have quite an average build.
People are all different, man. Just because YOU can sit comfortably one way doesn't mean everyone can.
[editline]31st August 2013[/editline]
For the very reason that I get uncomfortable easily I usually just choose to stand on public transport instead when it's busy because then I don't have to deal with needing to readjust stuff discretely or anything like that.
Well it's not so much just people spreading their legs but also people crossing their legs, sometimes on the bus people slouch forward and cross their legs sideways into where my legs are currently sat, sometimes they are surprised and quick to apologise or otherwise they ignore your entire existence so you're forced to sit at just as awkward angle as they are for the duration of the entire journey if all seats happen to be occupied.

Fuck you, I need those 2 seats, i don't want to sit next to some dumbfuck on the bus who smells like shit or talks to their imaginary friend bob, it's a public transportation defense system, as well as placing your bags,on the seat next to you.
oh. the FAQ
5) What about some one who can’t sit in one seat/fat person/disabled person/etc?
Fat bodies are constantly shamed in public and mocked for having the audacity to leave the house, we’re told we don’t deserve any space because we’re just so offensive to look at. Same for disabled people who are supposed to stay home so as not to make anyone else feel uncomfortable by having to look at them, but fuck that. I fully and completely support them taking as much space as they need.
I think she alluded to being fat herself.
so maybe the problem isn't men...
it's her own fat ass.
