So how do you fine gents feel about IDM? (ugh, I hate the term "IDM"...)
Seems to me like IDM is just another word for minimal, or slightly glitchy/off beat music
am I correct or not?
Just sounds like a word that people throw around for music that doesn't perfectly fit a genre/sub-genre

Nah, IDM refers to the minimal glitchy techno, a sort of glitchy ambient stuff and also breakcore stuff. It's more of a broad term referring to multiple genres of music, and an aesthetic. I was just wondering how you guys feel about IDM in general.

Not really, because you said IDM refers to minimal and glitch, but that's not exclusively what it is. And yeah, that's why I don't like the term IDM. In fact, Aphex Twin, easily the most famous IDM producer, says he hates the term and came up with "braindance" to replace it. Crazy motherfucker that he is.
