Paul Chambers released this tiny mix today, if you've listened to radio soulwax you've heard him before
Sorry for the double post, but I've been working a little on a song and was wondering what feedback I could get from you guys: [url]https://soundcloud.com/tdoyle/oobe-wip[/url]
I liked it. Work on a melody to spice it up a bit

[quote]Deadmau5 - the stage name of Joel Zimmerman - has admitted that he 'sold out' by going dubstep.
Speaking on CBC's Q radio - via Spinner - the electronic artist said: It's a conduit now for previously mainstream pop acts to use. I've only ever made one dubstep track and I will admit I only did it because it was cool at the time... I'm not a fan of dubstep but I figured 'Okay, well I'm sure I can engineer something that's palatable or on par with the whole Skrillex thing that everyone is into'.
He added: "I sold out on that one track - that would be me admitting yes, I absolutely sold out because I did it for the popularity factor... But now a lot of pop acts like she who shall not be named [Madonna] and a whole bunch of other people are going to use the whole dance/rave thing that died in 1992 that somehow got revived as mainstream dance music and they're going to use that and sell it out and over-saturate it."
Referencing Madonna – who he berated earlier this year for seemingly endorsing club drugs – he went on to say that her "message just really upset me". He continued: "I'm not stupid, I know what's going on with this whole thing. I'm wearing this mouse head and I'm watching kids get carried out by paramedics over the front railing and I'm playing. Sometimes I just want to stop the show, it's not cool and I really don't like it and it upsets me. So for her to just go with it and have a great time. I just thought, fuck it and give her a blast because it's fucked up."[/quote]
At least he was honest about it, but still its stupid to make music just for fame
i always thought raise your weapon was a pretty basic, soulless tune anyway. in terms of technicality skrillex way outdoes it, even if i don't like his music
the camo and krooked remix was great though before he denied it's release

Wow, this is great. Why did he stop the release?
dunno, the story goes that it was cleared for release by the mau5trap management - but then when deadmau5 himself heard it he didn't want it released. it's now out under the name 'watch it burn'

That Yolandi girl has had the same bangs since like 1997 and it's just the silliest thing.
Felt like I had to share this, no idea if you guys will like it or not but I find it mesmerizing

This one's perc-tastic. And it has a Snoop Dogg sample. It ticks all the right boxes.

really? I consider raise your weapon to be one of his best tracks, I like melodic dubstep like that and as long as he's not making any skrillex-esque brostep tracks I'll still continue to love deadmau5

dont get me wrong bro i love deadmau5, even his controversial stuff like the tune with gerard way i think its brilliant. but to me, raise your weapon just doesn't sound as energetic, deep, or soulful as his tracks usually do.

this is a tune i've been digging recently, though the b-line bugs me a little bit since it follows the same chord pattern as that disco tune skream made

Skrillex is melodic though. Raise Your Weapon is melodic, with the trademark Deadmau5 melancholy, but the dubstep bit is very basic sounding.

I suppose I agree with you there, I do really like it though. On the topic of Skrillex though, I like him too it's just that the majority of his tracks are reworks of other tracks and his wobbles are too high frequency. Like it's catered to people with bad headphones.

I was listening last night, it was a pretty chill 2 hours or so
I'm still listening to it now. It's been great so far. I've gotten some pretty good and fresh material out of it.
i'm going to bang out route 94 now.
Shame it only lasts for a week.
[editline]21st July 2012[/editline]
Does anyone know if there's a tracklist for it online?
[editline]21st July 2012[/editline]
Nevermind, found it.
