Links to pose sites like posemaniacs for life drawing?
Links to pose sites like posemaniacs for life drawing?
http://artists.pixelovely.com/practice-tools/figure-drawing/ Is good for figure and gesture, (it has a sign in but you don't need an account to use it)
I doodled this today. [t]http://i.imgur.com/N3ZtdGC.jpg[/t] Any tips on getting a rough grungy effect in sai?
Tree form looks nice, the high contrast makes it look more like cast iron or something than wood though. More midtones for something that close to the viewer. The path looks a bit out of perspective as well
Thanks! I shall try another one today.
Links to pose sites like posemaniacs for life drawing?
N.B. life drawing means drawing from observation in the flesh. It has nothing to do with whether your subject is living or not, hence the differentiation of "still life" for inanimate subjects

[t]http://i.imgur.com/N3ZtdGC.jpg[/t]
No more lined paper Now off to bed for the both of you
Here's a partially failed test using Gustave Doré's Vision of the Empyrean painting.
S' been a while since i painted watercolour. [t]http://fc01.deviantart.net/fs70/i/2013/075/a/1/moodswings_by_lieutenantawesome-d5y741r.png[/t] I also recently bought the first volumes of the Walking Dead comic, and couldn't help being inspired by the awesome artwork. Well i dont know what compelled me to make this. [t]http://th04.deviantart.net/fs71/PRE/i/2013/072/3/7/gossip_by_lieutenantawesome-d5xx4m0.png[/T]
Just a speedpainting. Took me something like 10 to 20 minutes to make. I really should try drawing more "dynamic" scenes like this one, it's really hard to render them correctly and it's a good exercise.
Tron. :)
[img_thumb]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/8557473/Drawings/2013-03-16%2013.16.15.jpg[/img_thumb] Starting to colour this with water colours, started out as a perspective and shading task I set myself, but I got bored, so i started painting in a kind of Japanese calligraphy style? I think anyway. CC please as always :) oh! and its WIP by the way!
Doing this for a magazine spread promoting an album. I posted it in the graphic design thread, but I figured since it's still just drawing that I would get better CC here.
The only nitpick I have is that his left hand and arm (closest to the viewer) looks like the arm just ends in a cluster of fingers. That and his knees don't match; one leg is significantly longer than the other. Other than that, it looks great.

If only there was a means of figuring out who was behind it

Thanks a bunch!
Just getting back to this a little bit, in case there's anyone in my situation of "oh god how do I do, this keeps turning out wrong". Just reading the articles on that site, and doing the class-esque life drawing with the 10 second gestures was really good for getting me over that starting hump. Yeah these are still really bad and just stick figures, but once the "class" was over I could take a look over the drawing where I didn't really have time to think and start spotting the mistakes to correct next time round. I think I'll keep on saving my progress, and hopefully by Summer next year I'll be able to see an improvement. Thanks again, Rhenae! [img_thumb]http://u.cubeupload.com/ijyt/day1.png[/img_thumb]

And use a wider range of values, darker blacks and lighter whites. mid tones are fine, you just have to think about where your main light source is and where the shadow would be the darkest.
Been a while since I've seen you around here, Det.
Past Post-Future.
Dude that's really 1337, can you make me a sig?
