found one of my old threads from 2009 lol
It's always fun to see your first steps in something, let it be drawing or coding or anything. Your first "hello world" or ugly doodles etc. These things are like your first toys, I mean, they may be silly or even scary, but they are still somewhat valuable. [editline]27th March 2013[/editline] I wish i could start drawing in 2009 or earlier, but I didn't even think about it back then.
aye i moderately enjoyed it [editline]26th March 2013[/editline] there's a review you can put on a box [editline]26th March 2013[/editline] "moderately enjoyable. 9/10" -ign
I bought it but then I let my brother play it and he had to make a Ubisoft account before it let him play and then when I went to play it (on my own Steam account) it wouldn't let me because it was tied to my brother's Ubisoft account So I haven't played it
Totally forgot to upload that animation thing. It's a little sloppy, but whatev's.
Great, ty His expressions go a bit bonkers at the end though, about six of them in the delivery of one line :v:
I don't really mind watermarks and signatures and stuff, even obvious ones I never thought it was obnoxious or egotistical until I heard somebody else tell me that it was; and I have a feeling that somebody told that person how to feel about obvious signatures and watermarks too Something that small and tucked away in the corner isn't enough to break the composition or even jump out on the initial read, so I think it's alright
Putting a watermark or obvious signature on the front of an artwork, in the composition, is stupid. Everyone in the whole world might do it. There might be no ego attached to it a lot of times. It doesn't matter, it's still not a good idea. Nobody tells anyone how to feel about watermarks, there's people with common sense who don't like them and people who defend them as the norm for some unfathomable reason Small, subtle, cursive signatures in analogous colours are fine. But even then, people should know you via the artwork itself. You are not the scrawl in the corner, you are the artwork on the rest of the canvas. No one is going to see your work without being able to find out straight away (or already knowing) who did it, unless someone nicks it. In that case your sig will be gone so it's just redundant. Besides, nobody is going to steal your shit, and why should you even care if they did?
Ok, i fixed it: i trow in a "C" or "Cellusious" in all my pieces because i like it, and not because theft or recognition.
Dang dude. It's fine to put signatures or whatever on your art, what they're gettin' at is pure white on pure black is pretty jarring. A little bit of subtlety ain't gonna kill ya. Hell, even a bright red would let it fit in even a little bit with the rest of the image. Especially on the internet, where images can get passed around in places far from where the artist originally posted it. Sure, it doesn't seem like a big deal nowadays with tineye and google's reverse image search, but what are you gonna do if you're not mega popular or cached on a search engine? They shouldn't draw focus away from the rest of the artwork, but it'd be nice if it was be available should someone want to look for it.

You gave your two cents and I gave mine. All you have evidence for is that I care about it the same amount as you? Enough to post an opinion. Saying that is just a cop out
Signatures allow people to track down the source of the image, they're far from useless. Unless the person deliberately reuploaded it to an imagehost or something before posting it elsewhere Also you'd have to be very unlucky for nothing else to work Besides people tend to use their real name or initials in sigs, as opposed to the monikers under which they post artwork online. So as a backtracking tool I'd say 9/10 sigs would be useless anyway Plus
Small, subtle, cursive signatures in analogous colours are fine
bridge concept did some Da Vinci-ass plans in a sketchbook to flesh out how the bridge operates, designed a simple gear system and everything; might post about it when I can
I appreciate artist names on pieces at times, as long as they are distanced from the work. That way I can find more by the same artist if I just find it randomly somewhere.
that's why i think i'm gonna start putting my tumblr address little in the corner of most of my work because, especially when it's fan art, i keep finding pieces dotted around the internet with no reference back to me or reference back to me but to my deviantart account which has the chestymcgee username and that's no use to me professionally
How do people get past the giant wheel.
How do people get past the giant wheel.
I've got a system planned to support the wheel on small rollers at the top and disengage the central spokes so that it can still spin freely but the spokes can be stopped to allow people to cross
Other than the spokes the wheel is way lower than the actual walking path of the bridge.
I've got a system planned to support the wheel on small rollers at the top and disengage the central spokes so that it can still spin freely but the spokes can be stopped to allow people to cross
And even if it didn't, it'd be like.... "Oh, spoke's comin'" *wait about five seconds for it to pass in front of you* "Mke" *carry on*
I love to notice how some people in this thread are improving constantly. Random word of advice: The finished drawing is as good as it's linework. If you think to yourself "Eh, this doesn't look good, but when I will finish shading it, it will look great", You're wrong. Lineart must be pleasing to the eye and look like a picture of it's own before you shade it. (Of course this doesn't apply to those who paint in masses and add smaller and smaller detail in the process)

Looks like a water wheel/mill type of deal.

you ~really~ need to work on your face anatomy. these look hilariously wonky, sorry. :(
uhhhhh we had very open project guidelines. Asteroids are avocados I photographed and the car is my dad's.
you ~really~ need to work on your face anatomy. these look hilariously wonky, sorry. :(
Well i know youre not supposed to backtalk. but its not meant to be anatomical. Its supposed to be purely characteristic, and the far right one isnt serious at all, but a charicature of a friend.

Those all look off, for one the foreheads are massive, leaving their face all smooshed down in a small part of their head, that doesn't look characteristic it just looks wrong.
