It's usually the norm if you work by reference to say you're working by reference and show the reference you're using.
No one cares what reference you use for your studies lol. But yeah nice work you're getting a lot better

I figure providing your reference is a good tool for judging how close someone is to the reference, giving better insight into how and where to give CC.

And I just kinda feel if you don't mention you had a reference at all you could be a bit of a poser. Or at least if you're as lacking in skills as I am. I know I definitely wouldn't have been able make it without a reference.
I can tell you're a real nice guy without even really knowing you at all, Biscut.

The real question is: is that a sperm cat or a cat sperm?
So many people have seen me draw these downsy circle-cats and I've literally never had someone compare them to sperm before lol
my heart is broken
i see your cat and raise you one bear in space

that nose is non-canon
ya too thick sry bb
can anyone tell me (or source me link) to the brush you use? Any brush I pick just doesn't seem to do the job (tends to be too thick or to light) if you guys are using like a custom brush can I have the link to where you got it from please? :(
A lot of the professional artists actually use the default brushes. I don't think it's the brushes you should pay attention to but your technique. Maybe do studies with solid colours and colour picker tool or watch some videos and try to copy what they are doing.

it's just really hard to get the drawing right, my precision on paper is much better than digitally, it doesn't feel like I have full control over the pen. So the sketches come out bad

That's probably just a settings issue. Play with the brush settings - transfer, size, etc. I've been painting digitally for a while now and I think I'll always be more precise on paper than on tablet (until I get a cintiq, but that shit's a long time coming)

ok then I'll give it a go, thanks for that.

I agree, my drawing is a lot looser on tablet than on paper. For me thats actually a good thing, since i'm way over control freak drawing on paper and have a hard time getting sketches out. I think partially for me its the ease of movement on a tablet vs paper, theres no resistance to slow the pen down.
Takes some getting used to, and sketching will always be different on such a different surface really

Yep you'll never match your precision on paper on a tablet (that isn't a cintiq)
You get a better feel for it over time but never the same. We're all in the same boat, you just have to endure the period of being completely awful like the rest of us :v:

Huge image, might take a second to load without looking fuzzy as shit.
Drawn with (the best of the best (and only pencil I use)) a 0.3 mechanical pencil on A3 paper, took like 6-7 hrs...on and off ish. Can someone tell me if that's too long of a time for my end result?
