Main character for my game, I thought that the old design was too emotionless and slightly scary, decided to change my art-style entirely just to make a feeling of friendliness, personality, and reputability.
Fun fact: The old design was trying to emulate a 'Dusk Hotel' vibe, while the new style references some of Professor Layton's level of visual fidelity.

Now, colored pencils is a very tricky medium, I need to start learning from scratch, do some studies if I don't plan to fill everything in solid color like a 5 year old. But hopefully, in time, I will be Able To Produce Something Awesome. Doing a little experimenting with this. It's still a work in progress and I wonder how it would turn out if I shade it like this on the background.
Good to see you trying out dark tones
I'm a bit confused about his chest and face being white and his leg being very dark though
Also his sleeve looks very nice, but also looks like either metal or oiled leather or something. These things have high specular highlighting whereas things like wood, fur or cloth will give diffuse lighting - if you get these things right you can stylise heavily and yet produce realistic (as in convincing) scene artwork

'Her' :)
Yeah, she looks a bit peculiar now. I've yet to get drawing fur right and I think that I've drew her fur too dark and shiny. Don't moles have white chests?
Oh do they? You'd know better than me mate you're the mole connoisseur :v:
My fur last page isn't terrifically helpful, I didn't ref a mole or anything. Check out pictures of moles and also take a look at other artists to see how they've dealt with getting the texture and length across

Actions speak louder than words, so I made a quick study right away, using only three pencils of primary color. This is fun.

Am I on the right path?

Reminds me of the original fallout artwork a lot. Very cool, it would be nice to see some finer detail in it, like you can see on the wood, although I guess that not doing that is a good way to create perspective, which this piece defiantly has. Good job
This kina thing

It looks kind of blurry and muddy overall though, which is partly for the atmosphere probably, but also partly due to how you render stuff. I think you're using brushes with either too low of an opacity or not on 100% hardness. Maybe if you resize the piece down to 800-1000px and then try to work a bit from there to bring out the contrast and fix a few things, it'll look a lot better (like last time)
what the fuck why is everyone so good at stuff
oh well have a sub-par film quote picture

Just a grayscale painting from reference. I'm still pretty new to digital painting so if anyone has any tips or critique that'd be great.
Make sure you don't skip over reflections- in the glasses but especially in the eyes. Without them any kind of painting will look much more lifeless than it has to. Even if you just add some sharp splotches of white it can make a ton of difference.

Picked up my graphics tablet again after not using it for nearly a year.
My first proper and serious work with it.
The mask itself is not done by any stretch, still considering redrawing it entirely and going with another design on it.
Otherwise, I'm quite happy with it.
Any tips anyone could give me for making something look like bone and/or metal?
More animation practice

Can someone help me?
The quote look reeeeally out of place for some reason. Is there another way to place it or format it so it looks nicer?
Any advice is welcome.
Also, any idea for a better colour scheme would be nice.

Rule of thirds might help some if you go look that up
I would place it between north america and europe, right now it seems a little shoved off in a corner. A more "handwritten" looking font might also help.
The graphic design thread might have more input as well, cross posting wouldn't hurt :)

Given that it's a US quote, I'd throw it between the US and Africa
Working on silhouettes for a character I'm designing. He's an alien bounty hunter set in a dieselpunk universe.

Alright, I think that I'm going to go the slightly lame but possibly more fun route with my gal' s nukacola. I can't decide on a color that I think looks good so I'm thinking I'll just take over all the materials to make them on her b-day so she can make the color she likes as she's the one who'll be living with it. I'll have all the bottles and stuff done by then though so all she'll have to do is mix and pour them in. Anyone have any more suggestions for making them look close to the in-game ones? I have empty glass coke bottles, a ton of caps, and I'm going to redo all the labels and such.
