Being in snow once or twice is not living in it for more than half a year.
In Germany it goes like this two months of summer, one month of fall and spring, and eight months of Winter :(
I would rather be in the heat than snow. Travel conditions during a snow storm are brutal.
Depending on the temp, you can't travel in heat. Here when it is 38c+ they have to shut down the train lines and the buses. Trains are due to the fact the rails can warp, the buses, due to the fact they overheat a lot in the mildest of temps. Cars are your own risk, but a lot of the time they can overheat as well. You can't win when it comes to extreme cold or extreme heat. At least with cold though, you can warm up, from heat, you can't cool yourself down any further. [editline]21st April 2013[/editline]
I hate winter, all it does is ruin your cars, cost more in electricity, requires you to shovel daily, and there's no winter activity I like. I'd rather have a mild heat all year long than half a year of snow and rust meeting.
Try running an Aircon 24/7, that uses way more electricty as all of it has to be used for cooling.
20-30C is my fav spot, no mess at all.

Or if you heat your house with firewood, logs are expensive, a whole winter is about 600-1000$ + electricity for other small stuff. Oh and a block heater plugged for nights where it's under -30c for a few cars? That costs more than heating the house for a week. Try again.

It's been cold and hot on and off all spring so far. I just want warm weather to return, I can't take seasonal affective disorder.
Lol I grew up in georgia where it's always hot and heat sucks :p I like cold weather because I can always put on more layers to stay warm (but you can't just take off more layers to get cool in hot weather), snow is goddamn pretty and makes everything sound quieter, its goddamn cozy and wonderful indoors in the winter time (fireplace for bonus points), etc. Of course downside is bad driving if the snow is fresh, but its honestly not that bad if you don't mind it taking 1.3-1.4x longer to get where you need to go. That said cloudy/mopey cold days are never great no matter the season, and such days tend to happen more often in the winter I feel. If its really cloudy and bleh outside I either want to it straight up be cloudy in a way where it feels like I'm in some kind of atmopsheric WWII setting or just straight up be raining/snowing :v: EDIT: I should say though I really liked my visit to nevada/arizona in the winter over a year ago, because heat there is very dry heat which isn't so bad (all you have to do is find shade and you'll cool off for a bit). Most of the heat where I live though and grew up tends to have some humidity, and half the time it'll be very high humidity. Which sucks because it just makes you feel like you are drowning in your own air while burning up lol

Weather is so interesting.
woo got my controller back and not working tomorrow TIME TO PLAY DARK SOULS WITH MY FRIEND FOR 30 HOURS STRAIIIIIGHT
Bought a new, little laptop since my other one is starting to up and die on me. Windows 8 will take some getting used to, that's for sure. [editline]20th April 2013[/editline] Touch screen on this, so that's a plus.
Get classic shell.
I wouldn't mind giving this thing a fresh install at least. Does anyone know if the OEM key it comes with will work for installing Windows 8 again by chance?
Went out to lunch with my grandma. Ended up buying me a new monitor and graphics card. Fuck yeah.
I would probably never use a touchscreen on a laptop, it would break it unless it was a tablet style laptop where the screen can flip around.
What do you think you're going to do? Punch it?
What do you think you're going to do? Punch it?
I just feel that it would be very flimsy. I've used them before and it will be all scratched up and such. And I'd probably use it to draw stuff in Photoshop.
Does anyone know if the OEM key it comes with will work for installing Windows 8 again by chance?
It worked for my old Vista install. Only thing is it may say that it's already been used so just follow the phone thingy to get it dealt with.
then email him a freezer
I don't think he has a 3D printer
its called windows 8 because you'll want to W8 for windows 9 hahahah!!

Pro-tip: Customize your start screen so that you put your less-used apps (less than the ones on the task bar) so they're easy to access. It's faster than the old start menu when you use it like this.
Found the reinstall Windows 8 option through the Settings menu, doing that. Now I wait.
Found the reinstall Windows 8 option through the Settings menu, doing that. Now I wait.
If you're reinstalling because of the garbage that came from the store you will just get it again doing that I believe.
If you're reinstalling because of the garbage that came from the store you will just get it again doing that I believe.
I'm reinstalling it because it was the display model they used. People had done random shit with the laptop. All I care is that it costed me less overall, and if it breaks somehow within a year, I get a card for the full price. Best Buy, whatever.
I would never buy a display model. There's some many kids that just beat the shit out of things like that.
In other news, about an hour and some minutes away from sushi with friends. Doing a little birthday celebration for me tonight, even though it's next Friday actually. Not because it's 4/20 or anything, just because of the convienence. [editline]20th April 2013[/editline]
I would never buy a display model. Lower cost model, not something they care to put out there. Besides, it's only $400 after everything.
i woke up an hour ago and got a coffee. weee....
