I don't think it would be cruel if they fed it and kept it supervised outside. (during the day)
Would you clip a bird's wings but let it hop around your yard as a substitution for freedom?
It just doesn't work that way, dude.
Aw how nice of you.

No I wouldn't. I don't have the time to catch a bird, even less time to hold it down and clip it. Cats don't fly bro.
[editline]11:09PM[/editline]
Besides, all i wanted to do was post my opinion of cats.
[editline]11:11PM[/editline]
Plus, I never said "keep it in your yard", thats what leashes are for.

Everything you have said is totally detestable in every way. I could never keep a cat on a leash, that seems almost crueler than to keep it in the house! You tease it with freedom.
This world needs more people like the OP.

Because we are running out of them with them all dying of stupidity!

If it doesn't return of its own free will it's not really your pet anyway.

OP deserves a cookie, or in this case a cheeseburger.
I tell him that I was just trying to prevent the cat from being run over, then, a woman and a man steps out of a house, who were the owners of the cat. I got up and told them what had happened. They were relieved that I was okay and that the cat was, they offered me $1000 for doing such a life-threatning thing but I refused to take the money. I soon found out that the cat's name was "AJ" which is the same name as mine.
no one would give you $1000 right there, on the spot for saving their cat
[editline]02:38AM[/editline]
hahaha how could you not see that this is fake fucking idiots
Ok, I was about to call you a giant dumb shit, but I think you did the right things seeing as it was old folk.
I don't know, they could have been rich.
I hate how people on the internet call fake on the most mundane of things, and yet when people like Pentrazemine show up, they believe his every word.
Good deed
I bet the cat was like "meow, meow, meow" Because he's a cat.
Dude, that sounds like something the main character of KotOR does regularly if on the light side.
Save stuff, refuse reward, feel better about oneself.
OP is an absolutley fucking legend. I love you OP!
To the ignorant people in this thread (and whole forum for that matter), dogout.jpg
Well done Xylem :h:
Indeed :h:
OP, That was both kind a foolish.
Kind for the whole cat thing (rated you heart)
Dumb for not taking a thousand dollars.
I really wasn't thinking when I did it. Also, I'm very passionate when it comes to helping animals.
Good on you, mate :)
I've been having to do the same for this idiotically friendly ginger stray who keeps following me everywhere (I walk every evening, he follows me on my walk, follows me home, follows me to work, etc.) Though I admit I've not had to dive in front of cars to save it's life, but did make this woman brake really hard (was on the verge of running across the road and scooping the cat up off the road as I ran)
And I'm a supposed dog person >.<
(But, I'm a zoology student, so I guess it's fairly obvious that I'm an "animal person")
Good job Xylem saving the kittys
This thread is one part cat hating, one part 'disenfranchised teen' misanthropes trying to compare the 'value' of a cats life to that of a human life and one part congratulating the OP for his suicidal bravery and four parts stupid fucking bullshit
I love how all the people who don't believe him are a bunch of 10'ers going "lol liar u fail u got hit by a car for a cat"
Good thing you refused the money because if you died all the money would be coming out of your parents.
I would just had ran and tried to grab the cat.
OP
The world would be a better place if everyone was like you
If I were you I would've taken the money and donated it to an animal shelter or something.
Well, that was brave. As for the reward I think it would feel wrong to accept it so you're great person for that. Also I doubt you did what you did expecting some kind of reward.

Just don't throw yourself in front of a train because you see a snail crossing boy'o
