I think some of you are forgetting that people consider a cat a member of their own family, not just an animal.
A hero in making. Next step: GRANDMAS!
Honestly, I'm not really sure if this is true or not, I think the elderly couple would only offer $1,000 if they were filthy rich, or have had the cat for a long, long time. And, was there anything wrong with the cat? Did the elderly offer you 1,000 bucks to leave them alone when it comes to catiside?
Dumb to step in front of a car for a cat and dumb to refuse 1 grand lol Either fake and gay or retarded take your pick
Dumb to step in front of a car for a cat and dumb to refuse 1 grand lol Either fake and gay or retarded take your pick
Agreed.
I don't get why everyone is saying "Y dun you take mony?", I would feel far to guilty accepting such a generous donation.
I don't get why everyone is saying "Y dun you take mony?", I would feel far to guilty accepting such a generous donation.
That's because it never happened.
This thread has become uninteresting
I concur with the above post.
You gained karma!
Good on you mate. I'm glad to see people still care about animals.
You are my hero. :fireman:
It's always nice to hear these stories. Good job :-)
Why do people find my epileptic cat funny
OP is a true hero!
Show me one good reason why it isn't.
It's a matter of opinion but I think we all can (except you) agree that people care more about a human than about a cat. Imagine your cat died, can you see your whole familiy crying, maybe your schoolmates also? Imagine you died, can you see your whole family crying and maybe your schoolmates also?
Fucking hero. Risking your life like that. You deserve an award.
I just read it like a song O_O. Think about ''Faith - Insomnia'' and read it like that.
I think some of you are forgetting that people consider a cat a member of their own family, not just an animal.
True, but it wasn't even his cat. Also, human family member > feline family member. [editline]e[/editline] What the fuck top of pages two and three
Was the cat's name Jason?
As the owner of two cats, I would have done the exact same thing. Props to you, OP, and don't listen to all of these pricks telling you you did a bad thing.
It is nice to see somebody thinking about other life then their selfs. Even if it is a small life i think he needs a fitting title.
I'm sorry, but saving a cat at your own life is among one of the most idiotic things you could possibly do. [editline]10:36AM[/editline] Not to mention selfish, the driver will have to live with that guilt, and the family will have to live with the guilt that their cat got a boy killed. Oh and your family, and your friends... [editline]10:37AM[/editline]
I think some of you are forgetting that people consider a cat a member of their own family, not just an animal.
Unless you're retarded, you care more about a random human life than your god damn cat.
I was walking down the streets in the middle of night, and I see a little animal on the side of the concrete path, as I come closer to the animal I discover that it's a cat, I assumed that it had an owner because the house the cat was infront of had left the gate open which leads to the backyard. I went to go pat the little cute thing when suddenly a car in the distance starts beeping it's horn, the cat got scared and just ran in the middle of the road. The car was going over the speed limit and was just about a couple of metres away from the cat and then the cat just stayed in the same spot, I jumped infront of the cat trying prevent the car from hitting it. The man in the car floors the brake and the car hit me but luckily I only got bruises. I get up and see the man screaming at me and saying that I was trying to commit suicide, I tell him that I was just trying to prevent the cat from being run over, then, a woman and a man steps out of a house, who were the owners of the cat. I got up and told them what had happened. They were relieved that I was okay and that the cat was, they offered me $1000 for doing such a life-threatning thing but I refused to take the money. I soon found out that the cat's name was "AJ" which is the same name as mine. tl;dr - Read the thread title
If you did this just to tell the FP about it, then it means nothing.
Maybe he values life in general and couldn't bear to witness an innocent creature getting ran over by a car. It's morally right you know.
I hope you're joking Valuing life in general is fine and all, but risking a human life which is without a doubt more worth than a cat's, is idiotic and stupid. Did you ever think that the car driver would have to live with that guilt his entire life, and that the family of the cat (if it had one) will have to live with the guilt of its cat killing a human, oh and not to mention the OP's family would be broken beyond repair, and his friends would be hurt. To think "Oh saving a cat is good, nice job OP!" is idiotic and selfish, it was a good thought by the OP, no doubt, but the repercussions of him dying are very big, and it's selfish to kill yourself over a feline.
the action was done with good intentions... but the risk factor is far too high... you and the cat both could've died, ever think of that? tell whoever owns that cat to take more control over it, dogs are kept on a lead, cats wander everywhere they please I've seen loads just going up and town roads, if they all ran into the street and some loony was speeding, what would you do?
He didn't state how fast the car was going.. just that it was speeding. Some residential areas are 5 or 10 MPH while 15-20 would be speeding.. but wouldn't do too much damage to you if they had slammed on the brakes beforehand. It's not like the OP ran into a busy highway to save the cat. It's all about the situation.. we didn't really see it so we all picture it differently. I believe it was slightly dumb.. but it's still a good deed. Show us the bruises maybe for some proof? I believe you though.
That's a great story, I love when they have happy endings. Too bad you didn't take the money though!
By the way, turning down the money was selfish, they wanted to repay you for your endeavor, and you turned it down and now they can never truly repay you.
