In that case, the cat was never in any danger. lol
It was, since the driver was concentrating on the road and not the cat.
It was, since the driver was concentrating on the road and not the cat.
The cat was on the road, wasn't he?
And also it is kind of hard not to notice a Russian-accented loud person running at your car yelling while waving his arms.
Dark-ish
It was, since the driver was concentrating on the road and not the cat.

But officer! I was focusing on the road the whole time! It's not my fault I wasn't focusing on the kid that was ON TOP of the road!
One thousand dollars... Damn you're a fool OP.
His own life on the line, that would have ruined the car driver's life, and his family's life.
Yes he should have carefully made a handy chart of all possible consequences before making a decision.
Yeah...get out.
no.
The cat was on the road, wasn't he?
You're trolling me, aren't you? Is it really that hard to understand how the human mind works?
Think of one of those jokes that do ''you noticed the woman before you noticed the boat''

Right, because everything should be judged in retrospect.
Yes he should have carefully made a handy chart of all possible consequences before making a decision.
no.
Or he should have just thought "That cat isn't worth my death"

Preeetty sure when you're driving you focus on everything on the road, as far as you can see.
Or he should have just thought "That cat isn't worth my death"
Again, he didn't have time to ponder anything he was probably just "OMG CUTE CAT I'LL SAVE YOU ACTION MOVIE STYLE"
Was it a dumb thing to do? Probably. Was it "oh my god he values cats more than humans"? Hell no.

I really think you are the one trolling. At least, I hope you are. Do you really drive down the road focusing on the dotted line to make sure your tires are lined up and nothing else? You should be constantly scanning for obstructions in the road.
Also, the driver had no reason to swerve or stop from "Speeding" because that only makes it worse. The first thing you learn is that you never swerve to avoid something small and fuzzy because that is how you get killed.
If you see a cat at the last second [which it apparently was because the driver HIT THE OP] you steel your resolve, say something to whatever god you believe in, and decelerate steadily, hoping it will move. If you hit it, oh well.
Its not polite nice and friendly, its incredibly stupid
im sorry but thinking realistically you risked your life for a cat.... thats a stupid thing to do
maybe i am being an arse but i just cant see any sense in the op's actions
so would you think the same way if it was your cat?
Hey guys lets be mad of somthing that could have happened instead of what actually happened!
so would you think the same way if it was your cat?
He probably would, because he's not an idiot.
so would you think the same way if it was your cat?
Yes. I was ready to see my large doberman run over if the driver did not stop, and that did not make me want to step in front of the car to help it stop.

You definetly should focus on that, but people aren't always competent drivers now are they? :v:
Or he should have just thought "That cat isn't worth my death"
Let's consider everything before we decide wether or not to save lives :v:

Considering "I am worth more than small cat" doesn't take more than a millisecond.

Seriously? Unless there's people behind me I even stop for fucking birds.
You are a hero.
Yes. I was ready to see my large doberman run over if the driver did not stop, and that did not make me want to step in front of the car to help it stop.
Obviously your perspective over rules all others.
Seriously? Unless there's people behind me I even stop for fucking birds.
You don't slam on your breaks, or swerve around do you? Because...that's a bad idea sometimes
Let's consider everything before we decide wether or not to save lives :v:
You have to be trolling, or 11 years old.
Yes, let's. That is the first thing they teach you as a fireman, soldier, police officer, or anyone in a dangerous line of work.
Is it safe? Y/N.
If the odds are you will be maimed or hurt severely, there is no reason to put yourself in that situation because then you are just another person needing saving.

Here's an interesting question; suppose a friend of yours was in the same position, would you still value your own safety first?
[sp]I'll make it easy for you: You would.[/sp]
Also OP didn't almost die you probably would have been fine even if he hit you full speed, you'd just have one bitch of a hospital visit.

Holy shit you're so fucking...holy shit! Did you really just compare your friend's life to a CAT?
GET the FUCK OUT

OP is not a fireman, soldier, police officer, or anyone in a dangerous line of work.
Just because you apparently have super strong nerves and a strong resolve doesn't mean he does or that other people don't.
Also OP didn't almost die you probably would have been fine even if he hit you full speed, you'd just have one bitch of a hospital visit.
Thousands of dollars of treatment, immense pain, or a cat...
hmm

It depends. If he was lighter than me, and I felt I could move from where I was to intersect the car's path, removing him from it, then sure.
If I saw that the only thing I would achieve is getting myself hurt or killed, then I would yell and wave for the driver to stop and yell car to my friend.
I mean obviously I am much better in use healthy, I can detain the driver, check on my friend, carry him or call 911 if necessary, but if we are both hit the driver can drive off and leave us both for dead.

it doesn't take strong nerves or strong resolves to think "It is not worth it"
*I'm* being illogical? Says who? The one who was completely abandoned all reasoning to make assertions based on his own feelings about how the world should work?

I thought I told you your arguments are terrible.
You really do refuse to employ thought don't you?
