Here's an interesting question; suppose a friend of yours was in the same position, would you still value your own safety first?
[sp]I'll make it easy for you: You would.[/sp]
Oh and, by the way, risking your life could cost both of your lives. Which..is bad.
[editline]02:43PM[/editline]
You really do refuse to employ thought don't you?
Yes because comparing a human life, no less, your friend's to a cat is totally sane.
You don't slam on your breaks, or swerve around do you? Because...that's a bad idea sometimes
No, I mean if I see them up ahead. I guess split second I'd hit the fucker. But I might swerve or brake out of complete surprise. I live in the country and I'll tell you right now, deer suck, and pretty much everyone out here has first hand experience with getting surprised and swerving for a deer. So even if there's something like a cat we're all programmed to think of deer and go OH GOD OBSTRUCTION
it doesn't take strong nerves or strong resolves to think "It is not worth it"
In a way, freezing up and not doing anything is just as possible as a spur of the moment act of heroism. But meh, I value the latter way more.
Anyone who stands by and lets any animal die when they could have stopped it (anyone that made that decision logically) is less human than someone who does.
You really do refuse to employ thought don't you?
Perhaps it is you that is having trouble thinking. You are doubting that humans in general have the capacity to run a cost/benefit analysis before intervening in an otherwise dangerous situation.
I tend to have the faith in human intelligence to say "Yes, most people can think".
You seem to have trouble grasping the concept of thinking, so you are losing this argument while making ad-hominid attacks and screaming "ARE YOU SERIUS?!"

Yeah, but hopefully most people don't swerve and therefore risk the lives of many people, including themselves.
Yes because comparing a human life, no less, your friend's to a cat is totally sane.
Now you're getting the right idea. I even provided some pretty good reasoning for why that is. You should totally check it out sometime.

It was a split second moment, he didn't have time to consider anything.

Sure, but it's very unlikely as to whether or not they know they can save them.

You're trolling right?
Yeah, but hopefully most people don't swerve and therefore risk the lives of many people, including themselves.
Unfortunately it's pretty common. Deer will fuck you up if you hit them on a country road. They're like walking brick walls.

Oh yes the heroism of getting injured and being able to do nothing for the cat, oh how I envy that.
Your problem is you do not understand the concept of anything relating to perspective value. You seem to think throwing your life on the line for an animal incapable of self-awareness on any measurable scale is worth it.
This is insane, and of course in your lack of intelligence or perspective, you can't see how flawed your view is.
Wrong answer yo.
Also rated informative.

I understand, but still, I hope people can learn to realize it isn't worth it, unless they KNOW no one is around them, they shouldn't swerve.

You wish.

They don't know. Spur. Of. The. Moment.
They don't know. Spur. Of. The. Moment.
As such they shouldn't go for it.

Don't be so rude to him, he isn't as bad as BmB

I guess unintelligent people can't force themselves to think of anything other than Spur. Of. The. Moment.
I can see where you have trouble grasping the concept.
You're nice like Flipper was.

What? When did I say it was ''worth it''? I said that it's completely understandable that someone would instantly and without thought try to save an animal without ever considering other options.
The spur of the moment can be more reasonable than most lines of reasoning you will attempt. They don't tell you to just jump into it and see what happens for nothing you know.

...no
This post is so ironic :v:
It's ironic that stupid people misuse the word ironic because they feel like it makes them superior when in fact they just look stupid.
You really gotta learn some new words. Something like "I'll think about that", or "maybe you have a point". "No" is a pretty lame word. All alone by itself.

Provide a point or something worth thinking about and I will.

Shut up, you aren't right.
Shut up, you are making blanket statements about who is right.

Ok I guess the word ironic makes you butthurt. In that case the post is unintentionally funny beacuse you keep insinuating that I can't think from different perspectives when it's obvious that I was the only one considering them in this arguement. :v:

You can't be right, you think cats are worth as much as humans.

Maybe the only person considering them on your side, BmB isn't much to work with though.

I don't know about his stance, but I do think that someone that risks his life for an animal is selfess, not selfish.
Blanket statement again.
