I'm going to be very frank with you, because sometimes people just don't get told the truth about their work. It's pretty bad. Look at it yourself and ask, does this accurately represent a person? I think you know that just about everything is off, and while it's great that you tried, I just think it's important to know just how much improving you need to do. Just like everybody else says in the thread, you will need to do a lot of study. Particularly anatomy. Study the way the human body works, the muscles, the bones. Just get a good grasp of what you're drawing before you just doodle a buncha lines and hope it looks human. And don't post incremental updates of your work here. Go off and work on it yourself. And if you want to get good, don't stop. And when you know you've improved through all of your study, you should come and post some of it. But for now, people are just going to get mad and frustrated at you for posting the same horrible drawing over and over, knowing there's no way you can improve it. Don't keep altering your drawings to be perfect, they never will be. Just keep drawing new things. Do it again and again, move on from one thing to another. and good luck
I nearly jerked a tear of joy. The only reason I post here is that it doesn't feel right if I judge it because I'm still an amateur at this stuff, and well, narcissism happens. Just one question. Where can I go to study these? Apart from getting a tutor or taking courses [sp](I maybe taking a 6 month art course after my O' level papers finish).[/sp]
Ok, I re-did the hat and hopefully at the same time, not damage the quality of the sketch.
You have destroyed it even further... It needs to be symmetrical I have that hat in my room cept it's got the EGA on it.

I'm sure there are plenty of people in this section who have other places to study it, hopefully they post theirs but do NOT practice with cartoon anatomy. where will that get you? the ability to copy somebody elses cartoon style and you still won't know how to draw real people, and then when you try to learn, the cartoon style will influence your drawings of people and you'll basically have to unlearn the cartoon shit, only to relearn it after you know how to actually draw people, so REAL anatomy can influence cartoon drawings. not the other way around.
Ok, first... Wow, was that necessary? And second, I'll go check a book store next week. Thanks for the advice.
brb studying head anatomy
Ok, first... Wow, was that necessary? And second, I'll go check a book store next week. You guys wouldn't mind if I posted shitty practice images, right?
i might
:allears:
You guys wouldn't mind if I posted shitty practice images, right?
That would be delightful. :woop:
I need to start using references, does anyone know a good website? Other than posemaniacs
loomis is good for head reference, download his book [editline]27th April 2011[/editline] or even better, buy it
a quick photo study any major mistakes? oh wow the bottle shape looks retarded
The bottle shape, the screw serrations on the top are uneven and it has no sign in the reflections, apart from those things, the colouring is very nice
What was that website where it has all the loomis books for download? I lost them when I reinstalled windows.

practice at making "handwritten" animation.
coulda picked a better font. also you have a few (glitchy? i can't think of the word) bits that flash up, mostly around the ZUS bit. but for a handwriting feel animation it's pretty accurate
practice at making "handwritten" animation. [img_thumb]http://filesmelt.com/dl/cheezus-animation-test.gif[/img_thumb]
I'm guessing you masked it wrong, tiny bits of the letters that haven't appeared yet keep popping up. Otherwise it looks good. What program did you use to create this? (I'm guessing AE?)

(I'm guessing AE?)
Photoshop, took 20 minutes with 45 layers As for that tiny bits, I was too lazy to remove the letters properly, so I've just used eraser tool and those bits are just leftovers
Photoshop, took 20 minutes with 45 layers As for that tiny bits, I was too lazy to remove the letters properly, so I've just used eraser tool and those bits are just leftovers
That explains a lot. Fix that shit (shouldn't take more than a couple of seconds per layer) and it'll look a lot better. [editline]27th April 2011[/editline] The reason I guessed After Effects because it's real easy to do that kind of animation in After Effects. [editline]27th April 2011[/editline] Don't hate me for it jeez.

also check out this http://www.dafont.com/theme.php?cat=603
I don't understand why anyone would use Photoshop for animation. (besides editing an already existing .gif) just use After Effects. Any tool who understands Photoshop can use AE. aka i love After Effects
yeah after effects owns
AE high five
I don't know how to continue from the lineart over the frame
What do you mean you don't know how to continue from the lineart over the frame? I don't understand what you are saying.
What do you mean you don't know how to continue from the lineart over the frame? I don't understand what you are saying.
I think he's saying he's done the frame and lineart and now doesn't know what to do next.
