when i did a little test print on some a4 glossy paper the colours came out much too dark
how fix

I think the color choice can be better.
Green and off-white don't really match well and don't quite fit the theme.

are you using CMYK?

i'm not but usually when i do the colours are even more out of whack when i print them (for some reason)

Also do you have somewhere I can see all the posters you've done? I may very well be inclined to have a large one to print. Film posters own and I wanna cover my wall in them.

Well most likely you have a printer that is set to print in RGB so of course if you have your document in CMYK it would just get worse.

But this could be everything. Your printer might be set wrong. Your monitor might be off. Your print settings might be off. Or more likely, none of these 3 mediums are on the same wavelength.

What you want is to use the same colour profile on your printer, on your document and on your print settings.

The one thing that struck me right away is that the dark edges at the tip of the gun don't actually go in a circle around it but more straight down. That's not right.

i've found that printing more subtle colours really doesn't work, no matter your setup or quality of printer, muted colours just come out saturated. not quite sure how to fix it.

when i change it to cmyk it rapes the colours, naturally
is there any way to convert it to cmyk and keep my colours? : (
or are you saying just to make sure the printer is set up for rgb?
because i've been printing rgb's

also it's not my minitor
like i said, samsung. also it looks the same on dads monitor. not my laptop though but my laptop is the odd one out, it's the one that's fucked
