uhm. you can't set a printer up to print in rgb. rgb is what you see on the screen, cmyk is what you see in the real world
uhm. you can't set a printer up to print in rgb. rgb is what you see on the screen, cmyk is what you see in the real world
i realise that but i figured anything can be done with a setting
technology yo
also printed stuff in the real world is cmyk but the real world aint we eyes dont work like a computer or a printer gurl
uhm. you can't set a printer up to print in rgb. rgb is what you see on the screen, cmyk is what you see in the real world
Most printers colour profile is set to RGB, that's what I'm talking about.
when i change it to cmyk it rapes the colours, naturally
is there any way to convert it to cmyk and keep my colours? : (
or are you saying just to make sure the printer is set up for rgb?
because i've been printing rgb's
also it's not my minitor
like i said, samsung. also it looks the same on dads monitor. not my laptop though but my laptop is the odd one out, it's the one that's fucked
No such thing since CMYK and RGB use such different colour combinations to make the colours you just can't get that crisp saturated quality of RGB in CMYK. The colours will change and you'll just have to manually change them to whatever is as close as possible as the original.
That's why it sucks to not just have a habit of working in CMYK from the start. Because it bites you in the ass afterwards when you think you might want a print of it.
Printing is all in all a major fucking bitch.
Your best shot is overriding your printer setting by letting photoshop handle it. Set the print profile to the same as your document, and be sure your monitor is using the same profile as well.
@rusty
You can force the proof set up, but the trade off is that your printer might not be able to output certain colors, which may result in artifacts.

and you need to disable color management in your printer setup.
Then you choose the same proof you are working in.
Either working RGB, your monitor, or windows by default.
I constructed fan-art of the spiritual successor to QWOP, GIRP
There are quite a bit of issues with it, and through various happenstances they developed into too much of a chore to completely fix. Also it probably would have been beneficial to have used some sort of reference at the beginning (or at all, for that matter). Ah, well.

That perspective is so wrong
and I see you're rocking the low opacity brushes
That perspective is so wrong

The perspective is horrid, yes, but I was actually not using low opacity brushes (granted, it does look like it).
Yes you did.
Or if you didn't the effect is still the same and it looks horrible

i was just thinking of cool cult films that have iconic imagery

I second this.
My first semi serious attempt at computer painting, hopefully I'll get a tablet pen thing by sunday.
It's a cloud, because I like clouds.

I have a much better actual paint one. I don't know how to mimic the look of brushstrokes.
[editline]3rd May 2011[/editline]
Also the blending with nearby paint, that's a big part too.
I'm using the GIMP right now, should I get Photoshop?
yes you should get photoshop
Gimp is terrible

Hey everybody, I've been practicing my digital painting.

This time I did a sketch of an eye, scanned the image and am working on top of it. Any advice/criticism to improve my work?
I've been thinking, what if i took 1 photo and drew it in multiple ways using different techniques.
About 10 photostudies out of 1 photo.
Wouldn't that help me find the best suitable way of drawing for me AND improve my overall skills?
naw u should take different photos.
keeping it new and interesting is important too
[editline]4th May 2011[/editline]
for you to draw that is
A poem;
We’re stuck here alone,
Trying to get our lives on track,
Skeptically we roam,
Dying to get our old selves back,
Destined we fight, these things inside,
Lapses in our minds, we’ve tried, we’ve tried,
An endless blight, that makes us hide,
We don’t know what we want, can’t find, can’t find,
Find what we can and cling,
Hold onto the past, only for a sting,
Find what we can and keep,
Hoping it will last, a firm grasp too weak,
The misfit that lost it,
The boy who didn’t believe,
He took his dream and tossed it,
Because he couldn’t see,
The selfless queen too scared to dream,
The girl who didn’t believe,
She left her home without a key,
Because she couldn’t see,
The future is untouched,
By their maiden hand,
Their efforts weren’t much,
“Others won’t understand”
i dont, other than a folder on my computer

Ok, I got around to looking for a book on the human anatomy in a nearby book store and found this.
http://i639.photobucket.com/albums/uu119/ryanwarguy/Image0415.jpg http://i639.photobucket.com/albums/uu119/ryanwarguy/Image0416.jpg http://i639.photobucket.com/albums/uu119/ryanwarguy/Image0417.jpg http://i639.photobucket.com/albums/uu119/ryanwarguy/Image0418.jpg
258 pages, book's length and width being larger than an A4 paper and has small text. With that out of the way, would you guys recommend this book for studying the human anatomy? Also, this was the only book in the store for human anatomy sadly.

everything comes out scribbly
Use bigger brushes and make the light transitions smoother(?)
i've been using a canon application to print

you should since cannon is dumbed down so that everyone can use it (i.e. our mothers)
like in that ad where the mum prints stuff for her son with their cannon printer

well when you turn down the flow overlapping colours are a shade darker, what you do is you eye drop that new shade of grey and paint again making more shades, do that over and over till it's smooth. Sorry if that made no sense

well, without their simple UI my mother would be hopeless.
