You should have thought that this was the solution, but it's not. with bigger brushes I cant have as detailed rendering as I want, the skin has lots of different values and I can only capture that using dem small brushes. Low opacity shouldnt be necessary, it fucks up the values no matter what. so yeah it may sound easy but it's not.
Oh but it is. Larger brush and 90-80% opacity on the brush. You can NOT capture the different values in the skin with smaller brushes. The skin has different values that blends into eachother. They are not in specific areas unless we're talking about blushing, which still spreads out softly. You need those slight variations in colours to be big splotches overlaying each other so that it looks like it has the same colour, but has the small variations that causes life. That's not possible with itty bitty brushes scratching the skin everywhere. It becomes scribbly and too clear and at the best looks like wrinkles. You need big brushes with variation in colour crossing eachothers path creating a soft skin. And then you throw some pore-like brush over it, which also should have slight variations in colour (which can be set in the brush setting by turning on "Color Dynamics" and make it very faint. Who said it was easy? Drawing isn't easy, there is nothing that is easy. The only thing that is easy is what you know how to do.
this is how it prints http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1482927/snake%20%282%29.jpg ( for comparion sake the original http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1482927/Posters/efnyFAAACE.png ) which i feel makes it lose something. as an artist i want my stuff to look how i intended it and it has a totally different feeling with such dark and muted colours damn you printers you will be the bane of my existence
That's actually a good print, but yes I can see the problem. And you have set the colour profile and everything manually and printed through Photoshop?
but really i don't see why that's a bad thing i'm just expressing my opinion on posts without bothering to post because i'm lazy not sure what the problem with that is it's not like i'm coming in here disrupting anything or questioning ratings or spamming the dumb rating as much as possible
I didn't say rating everything was a bad thing, even if it does make the rating seem worthless, I said asking for and caring for ratings that it even needs to be mentioned is a bad thing.
I do have technical knowledge applying it is something totally different
Woah dude I'm getting some serious déjà vu right now.
want to fight dgg
I would love to. But it would need to be done in real life. Otherwise it's not as fun.
mudwrestling i'm telling ya
Well I'm thinking more about time and space.
its kinda unfair for you tho now that you have shaved your beard and all you have nothing
its kinda unfair for you tho now that you have shaved your beard and all you have nothing
I have a 1 month beard. That contains much more strength than a dudette.
Detlef just blend that shit with lower opacity brushes it won't kill you many professional digital artists do eet
I guess I can try next time
Look for a brush with a grainy texture and set the opacity to 95% and the flow to 70%-85%, should achieve some smooth blends. If possible lower the hardness a tad bit too, especially in shadow.
I wanna see some sumo wrestling actions between detlef and dgg.

So there should be that sort of function for printers in photoshop (other than working in CMYK)
