Buy the fuck out of it. The paper-like surface is really comfortable to draw on and yeah, what ChestyMcGee said.
paper like surface? does this differ from the surface on a bamboo fun or is it the same?
Goofing off (in a tedious fashion) resulted in this:
I drew this to practice shading and stuff. Still WIP, have to do the hair and clothing and probably more: [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/ks46l.jpg[/img_thumb] The ref (yes it's tiny): [img_thumb]http://static.nme.com/images/article/84_SydBarrett_L110706.jpg[/img_thumb] So yeah, anything to fix that I'm too blind to see?
You digital art guys can easily check to see if your shit is wrong by just stretching your reference pic over your canvas. I'm sure you would see real quick whats wrong.
His front leg would curve back and out with the direction of his hip, or else he would fall over. Awesome sketch though, planning on coloring it? edit- fuck, didnt see there was another page. edit for the edit- I didn't know the pen nub storage thing for my intuos was a pen holder until detlef posted hers.
He was originally supposed to be mid-air in a jump but I couldn't figure out how to portray the legs so I just made him stand there. I see what you mean now. :) Probably not gonna finish that one but I might make a derivative sketch from it with fixed anatomy and more dynamic pose. [editline]8th May 2011[/editline]
Goofing off (in a tedious fashion) resulted in this: [img_thumb]http://fc08.deviantart.net/fs71/i/2011/127/9/a/pixel_hand_by_theloneredsheep-d3fuaf2.png[/img_thumb]
The transition from real to pixels could have been smoother somehow or have the whole thing to be pixels. But I like it.
paper like surface? does this differ from the surface on a bamboo fun or is it the same?
Is the same.
Is the same.
thanks, I thought I was missing out on something here.
um.... it doesn't really look like him at all the chin, nose and mouth are totally different shapes you didn't really observe the values well either - there's shadow where there is no shadow in the reference and generally not enough highlights (the whole left cheek on the reference is as bright as the nose, but here you've only painted the nose as a peak highlight) nice to see you've got the right starting place on the brush technique though
Yeah, I couldn't really get him to look quite right :sigh:. I'll try and fix the values and the overall shape of the damn face. I'm still pretty awkward with digital painting, though. But thanks, brush technique really was my main attention here, so nice to hear I'm doing ok there. And no, I don't really want to just strech the original over mine, that would just feel like cheating.
Adonihs brushes are basically all I use for painting
I'm really new to digital painting and i realize it's probably situational but i was wondering what flow/opacity people tend to use in order to create a nice blend. Though I see a lot of FP members say low opacity is bad.. i've been messing around with around 60% opacity 40% flow and it's okay i suppose, isn't working so well with this brush set though. Also i'm not using a tablet yet, maybe it's the pressure sensitivity that assists you?
Holy shit u can't paint without pressure sensetivety

No wonder adonihs brush set doesn't work for you

Chesty, who's that in your avatar?

Shitty half ass level design layout for my space port thing. Got alot of other assignments to do so dont have much time piss farting around with the level layouts. Can anyone else think of some more gameplay aspects for it? Also heres my shitty backstory for it. (I'm not a writer.)
Year set in 2143, civilization has gone forward rapidly with low flying vehicle air craft to orbital space elevators which reach around the planet. (To 2 different space stations.) From where pedestrians/vacators/anyone can take space carriers to 2 different inhabited planets. (Earth, Mars & direct warp travel to a medium size planet similar to Earth in a different solar system.). The player starts off in some rubble at a block exit throughout the space/airport. The player can interact with a few computers which play animations when the player walks towards them. The setting is a Space/airport which appears to be destroyed when the player 'wakes up', the city is in the distance which is in accessible via the broken bridge. Soon after reaching the 4th stage of space travel to the planet similar to Earth, the planet they inhabit becomes overcrowded, resulting in inlux in orbital space elevator usage increasing. After 4 years of constant travel 24/7, one of the 2 orbital elevators breaks mid travels to the orbiting station resulting in a massive shockwave back to the orbiting station and destroys it. A small shock wave sends massive ammounts of gamma radiation back down to earth which destroys half the air/space station along with the bridge and incinirates all the civilians apart from the player who some how survived. If the player walks off the broken bridge, they die and it fades to black, back where they started. If they travel to through the space elevator, they'll be sucked out to space with an image of earth and the other broken space elevator. If the level were in a game the objective would be to find a way back to the city or find a way to enable the orbital elevator repair unit. (Which I won't be adding to the level)
I don't like the blue and the steps on the stairs are not all equal. Also I would imagine a space port thing to have more than one elevator.
It's going to be a orbital space elevator, so I couldn't see the point in having like 5 of them at one station seeing how it'll go directly up to the space station. Still gotta work on concept art for it But you're right, I'm still thinking of elevators for the airport to go through the facility which some might be broken or working slightly. (the blue is just for presentation for marks. :v)
heheheahhaaa
Huh?

lmao
hilarious
haha i'm dying
At first you think that the person (an elf?) is going to be really a normal sized humanoid, but as you scroll the page down the truth is slowly revealed: a dwarf elf! Wait. Is that an orc? Well it certainly is an ugly one.
lmfao
the best
I know isnt it awesome
no?
