It's so odd, the shape of it is so strange but the technique seems so good.

What do you think of the cat so far? You and everybody are the only other coal users I'm aware of.

Drew a cockatiel, will prob finish it tomorrow.
More practice on the bus
shaky as fuck, I'm so glad that my phone has updated camera software from the community that stabilizes shots

there's a fourh one but it's shit
Once I finalise some designs I'm planning to spray/paste them up around my area. There's an overflow of shitty scribble or bubble tag graffiti around the place, so I'd like to introduce some decent pieces into the mix. Here's my first idea, quickly roughed on some whiteboard in an empty room at college

I'd like to have whatever feedback and ideas on it you can give me.
This has been loads of times - You gotta make that design really intriguing before it's better than the rest out on the streets.

yeah, done to death and yours doesn't really stick out

aside from anatomical mistakes, is there anything else i should fix before finishing it?

Well as I said, most of the stuff on the streets is awful. For the record that one is also awful. Thanks though, there's no reason I shouldn't try to add more elements into the design anyway, even if the competition is rubbish..
yeah, done to death and yours doesn't really stick out
Really? I've never seen it before, I feel robbed
That was pretty much just the idea though, I would sharpen it up a whole lot, maybe change the angle.. something closer to this

@ Xephio, if anatomy is above questioning I would just say extend the blade until it's visible on the right. Having a really short sword worn over the shoulder looks odd IMO
Was already planning to do that, i haven't even started drawing his left arm yet as you can see
Well then I'm not sure what you mean by things you should do BEFORE finishing it, if any progress you make will constitute finishing it..
Also maybe push the values a bit, it all looks quite medium grey at the moment
@ Xephio: The geometric shapes in his armor should be mirrored better, for starters.
eyes are creepy

Instead of drawing separate parts in detail you should do them parallel.
What do you think of the cat so far? You and everybody are the only other coal users I'm aware of.
Actaully I never really use coal, but it looks good to me.
Also wewt, quit shooting yourself in the foot. Draw outside of the bus and do not use lined paper.
Also wewt, quit shooting yourself in the foot. Draw outside of the bus and do not use lined paper.
I draw outside the bus on proper paper when I have time, also I'm getting a proper sketchbook for drawing on the bus. It's when I have the most time for practice :smith:
I'll find more time
Before I post a sketch with a seriously screwed up lip
I need to know, my reference has very visible lips, that it looks like he already has lip stick on, do I draw it out?
[editline]16th May 2011[/editline]
And this time, I have vaguely studied the head anatomy and constantly criss-cross with my reference, so hopefully anatomy should be alright

Finished it. But I'll post tomorrow ASAP. Trust me, this sketch is something that makes avoiding optional.

my word can you please do some anatomy/proportions studies?
how many of these anatomically incorrect and awkward flat character pieces are you going to post before you actually learn something and improve? i see little improvement apart from some slight positive change in brush technique
i mean, it's admirable that you're making stuff up and doing things without reference - that's a shit tonne better than the referenced crap i pump out - but you really lack the fundamental skill base to pull it off with any serious conviction
do you like daft punk
I like the daft punk helmet.

Thank you.
i just had one of those huge realization moments
oh and, got any sites suggestions for anatomy?
Right now i'm only using Posemaniacs, but i think it'd be better to try different sites
holy shit I have told you that loads of times
holy shit I have told you that loads of times
i know i know
somehow i need think about it in a way that activates like a button that enables me to suddenly REALLY understand wtf i just got told to do.
some weird shit i don't even know
it's like a process
and afterall i've learned the most thanks to you
quick sketch that doesn't really fit the reference

Yes it's in MSPaint, but that forum is dead for everything but the interactive threads :saddowns:
