I'm currently learning it too. I come from a Photoshop background and i'm finding illustrator horribly user unfriendly. But if you were referring to my piece i made everything in Photoshop minus the triangles and text which is literally effect > 3D applied that anyone can do. Also I'd say a tablet was less essential for Illustrator than Photoshop.

i saw it when it was white, i dont like the artificial paper colouring, it's like adding post processing to a sketch. i think its just as bad as signing it
she looks very asian, but like one of those unrealistic anime asians with realistic detail
maybe draw less asians?
I'll try to pull up some Caucasian references.
since I wasn't really using any ref in that one.

They also have billions of huge eyelashes. No one has that in real life. and no one has more and bigger eyelashes at the edge, the biggest eye lashes are in the middle. Only fake eyelashes have that big flare out.
IMO you've gone overboard with the eyelashes, it just looks like
you're trying to hide the detail of the lids. Eyelashes, even fake ones
don't look thick like that.
The sparkly look on the irises might have something to do with it looking
like anime. Dem sparkly shoujo eyes.
Otherwise it looks nice, just kind of boring.
