I don't. Can't do it 98% of the time.

I can't tell if you're sarcastic or not.
motherfucking hands, how do they work?

Really happy with some of them, ashamed of others.
Still, very awesome progress considering I started practicing yesterday and they all looked like shit then. I've realised that the hand is made of up a trapezium shape for the palm, then an oval for the thumb chunk, and this seems to work in every situation. I don't bother doing primitives with the fingers, I find it more restrictive than anything.
Ow ow ow ow
I read all the stuff in the loomis book. It's boring but... well if I'm going to read it I may as well do it properly
I can't tell if you're sarcastic or not.
I couldn't decide either
By the way.
Do you guys actually read all of the stuff in those books or just the stuff around the illustrations?
I liked the silhouetted spikey grass, it was amazing. Bring it back!
In other news, this porridge is too hot etc
I also liked the grass more.
lmao I totally forgot about the grass. Good thing you said it.
I used to do a shitload of fractal art years ago, but I stopped having time for that when I started doubling up on courses at uni.
I don't even think I have the high-res originals anymore, but I found this shitty JPEG:

I'll look around on my external HDDs later to see if I have the original files. They look a lot better.
Hey folks, once again, digital painting practice.

rule of the third and other basic composition rules.
check 'em.
i dont care about rules
i make this shit for myself and i make them the way i like them
just move the horizont down and the guy a bit to the right. It'll be better.
i agree with moving the horizon down, i did that in the current version i have
but moving the guy to the right makes it look worse because he's no longer in the center of the sun
move the sun and dude around until they look fine.
move the sun and dude around until they look fine.
moving the sun anywhere but the center eliminates the entire japanese flag concept
how can you even suggest that??

on japanese related posters

when it has nothing to do with japan?
Id understand if it was centerd, that would make it totally japan.
Also consider using the imperial flag, if you think it'll get into such an idetity crisis.
It's supposed to symbolize the japanese flag
Your examples are wrong and here is why:
The first is centered (which is good and goes against your argument)
The second is the flag for the Japanese army (which is actually off-centre BUT AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT FLAG)
The third is somekind of painting I assume, which I don't really care about (it looks stupid) and is an entirely different concept than my poster so why compare the two.
The fourth is also an entirely different concept if you ask me. It's more of a background than the actual center point of the poster (the soldier/sun are in mine)
The fifth would look a whole lot better if it was centered.
AANND on top of that, if I move the sun and the soldier over to the right (1/3rd of the way I assume you're suggesting) disregarding flag issues, it really does look stupid.
You're nit picking about the correct use of a fucking flag. Anyone that isn't you would instantly know that it represents japan.
