Meaningless logo

I really like the logo, but...
Protip: Never, EVER use "28 days later" font. It makes any professional work look like a creation from a 10 year old kid.

maybe they sell arts n' crafts supplies like glitter glue so it reaches out to all the edgy kidz

what?
your first image is quite bad, there's not much technique in it, same with your second one however it is a bit better. The trick to designing logos is to think of a few things before doing it:

type of company

Target audience

Colour palette
you can't just go into a logo with nothing on mind and expecting a great outcome
With the logo I had a sort of indie Urban Outfitters type of feel in mind, but it was very loose. I also appreciate the honest criticisms on the first image. :)
And also thanks barttool for the compliment on the logo, and the advice with the font.
Well, apparently my post got locked between two page stretchers, not getting noticed :(
any feedback on the newspaper thingy?
what?
10 year olds see the font and relate to it

I liked it but I dont know anything about newspapers

yeah the thing about the first image is that although you're a beginner you're going down a slightly shunned upon path. I don't know how long you've been photoshopping but if you just started I am really impressed by your mask, however from what I can tell your attempt at the cartoon effect is not really that great, you shouldn't really use filter effects that heavily as they do tend to look unprofessional.
I do like your grasp on masking though It's done well

I like it, it has that modern newspaper feel

I'd pay for a poster of this.

I don't know how you could go about making a newspaper not looking horrendously dull, but if that's the cover, you'll at least need to put in a title image and a title header, both in decent sizes. At the moment my eyes just drift over the whole thing, being grabbed by nothing in particular, then glaze over. No one's going to stop purposely, lean over and read the front page of a paper. Catch their eye with something, at least in theory, then there's a chance they might want to read some of it.
Hey Rusty, or whoever else, could you do a little tutorial on how you do those posters? They're great and I'd like to learn how to do it.
EDIT:
I just winged (Wung?) it, here's my attempt at a little background thing, I still have no idea where to go next with it, like movies and shit

HEY FELLERS, i just got a new monitor and I've noticed that the colours are VERY different
and I'm more inclined to trust the new monitor's stock colours (both are samsungs but this is one of their newest models, as opposed to my old one which is like 5 years old or more)
So, my posters look completely how i DID NOT intend them
if you would kindly tell me which colours look better, as the right is what you saw before, and the left is it changed to how it looked on my old one, but on my new one (used dual monitor setup to look at them on both while I did it)

*note, the new colours look intensely fucked up on my old monitor, so tell me what they are like on yours
it should still be a relatively pale but rich blue, not a deep aqua/turquoise

The left one has vivid colors and looks much better than the pale right one.
I also just realized you're a pretty good artist, not just a mean dick. Lovely.
i'm not a big fan of the bright yellow of the left one, the rest of the colors are obviously better though. So maybe use the background color of the right one on the left one?
and by the way, kind of weird you've been working with these wrong colors all this time, didn't you notice it when you got them printed that they were off?
i always thought it was my printer being an asshole
because printers usually are assholes

Wait? You were actually going for BLACK and not washed out black?!
I like the original the most, even if it could use a bit more contrast. The old has a washed out foggy blue whilst your new one has a strong vivid cyan colour with the second layer of eggs being close to a green colour wherein the original they were more washed-out purpleish. Your yellow background is now actually yellow instead of a washed-out yellow which looks better because it's closer to white, if you ask me.
Text clarity is way better on the new one though. (which of course comes from the increased contrast)
Basically: I am a fan of washed-out colours.
my whole life was a lie

it's still a washed out black, if it's black on your monitor you might be in the same boat i was in before
i gotta agree with dgg the washed out colors was really your thing and i really liked that, but now that you posted the comparison i don't know what to think anymore
it's still a washed out black, if it's black on your monitor you might be in the same boat i was in before
It's not fully black, no. But it's black. I can see that it's still got some brighness in it. But not washed out.
But I didn't exactly buy the priciest monitors since I wanted a matching dual-monitor setup for once. So I went for two cheaper BENQ's instead of one pricier Samsung, even though Samsung is where home is at.
interestingly, the big print I got done at officeworks was from the original colour scheme, and it looks much more like how I intended it, if a little too dark
so im basically
really confused
i dont think i can take it anymore
i got a gun!!!

you said your new monitor is still on standard settings but maybe you should calibrate it properly, because if that is actually wrong that would cause a lot of confusion
Don't do it, Rusty!
also I'd say the right one, but make the darkest blue just a bit darker to create some more contrast with the text

Common logic error right here.
You're still taking pictures of the same colours meaning our monitors would still read them as the same colours.
It looks almost the same to us as the images you posted.
WARNING: LARGE PICTURES
So I was filming some stuff at a Wiesmann Dealer and decided to take some pictures. Please keep in mind that I didn't have a good lens for pictures so I tried what i could.

woah cars outta nowhere

wat is this
the new colors with the old background color
wat is this
Slapped the old one over the new one with COLOUR overlay at 75% and cut off the background. I personally think that looks much better than the cyan colour and yellow background.
