I don't know about birthdays but one time when it was christmas and we had no money for presents my father went out back and fired a shotgun into the air, and then came back in and told us that christmas was cancelled because Santa just committed suicide
Yeah that's not a cool thing to do.
Probably gonna turn the kids into spoiled brats if they continue doing that...
It's meant to be a celebration of life for someone else, it's not about what the children want.
They're 2 nad 4 for christ sake, why does it upset you so much? Are the stealing the birthday boys limelight?
They're just blowing candles out

Yeah, fuck him right? How dare he have emotions.
This selfish fuck just wants to be the center of attention for one day in his life. On his birthday no less!
Narcissism, I say, it's pure narcissism.
If he finds a 2 and 4 year old are ruining his day because the candles relit and thry get to blow them up, then he's honestly got issues far beyond those of the children
It has less to do with him feeling like kids are stealing the spotlight, and moreso it being a principle of the matter. You light the candles and sing for the one having the birthday. That's how it's always been. To kick that aside and make an exception because some kids get needlessly jealous is really strange.
The kids are being spoiled and it just dampens the purpose of the event. Why not relight the candles and sing for everyone then? I mean since Doozle here doesn't find it strange at all.
I can only assume it's really awkward too. Everyone is probably pondering how spoiled the kids must be or how enabling his parents are being for their poor behavior.
C'mon man. Nobody would like this.
They're tiny kids is all I'm saying. It's just a bit of fun. OP just comes across as childish, he's turning 18 he'll be an adult.
I don't know I grew up in a big family with baby cousins around at birthdays. This doesn't seem that strange to me. I'd probably let the kids blow it out with me, I don't even think I had a birthday cake for my 18th (my friends did however take me to a pole dancing club). I've never made a big deal about birthdays.
Should have notified them that you are a lawyer representing the owners of the birthday song's copyright and that they will be fucking sued into oblivion if they try any shit. Of course this relies on them having not heard about the recent invalidation of the copyright
i could never stand little kids birthdays. Children are too stupid to know how to blow candles out properly and spit all over the cake. You could use the fact that its unhygienic as an excuse why you dont want kids blowing out your candles.
