omg i thought i was the only one who thought gradea was terrible lets be friends
I love GradeA, when he's making actual videos. I don't give a single shit about his drama-stirring.
Grade seems pretty reasonable there and not assholish at all. I'm not sure where you're coming from.
almost like you ignored everything he just said and you're blindly following grade i mean i dont mind grades videos but some of them are pretty fucking dumb, also defending keemstar is a pretty big negative
Well I'm so glad you can prove such an allegation, seeing as so many people think otherwise. Oh wait a minute...
You want me to prove somebody's enjoyment of something? That can't be proven. I thought it was obvious thought. Its a time proven business strategy.
You want me to prove somebody's enjoyment of something? That can't be proven. I thought it was obvious thought. Its a time proven business strategy.
This post is so verysmart that I think I lost a few brain cells.
For a minute there I read the thread title as "DARPA is more popular than CONTENT" and I was really curious as to how the defense advanced research projects agency would be relevant in this case.
Drama generates more views because it allows people to choose sides and give them a feeling of being a part of said drama rather than just commentating on interesting content. The more controversial or gray a drama video is the more it will be shared, the more it will be talked about, and the longer it will stay in people's minds. If I see a neat music video I will probably comment on how X time frame this really neat thing happens that I find interesting, send it to a friend who has my similar taste in music and videos, or post it somewhere else where I think people should see. But then enters in a drama video outing some other guy. Now I get to talk about how crazy point X is at time 12:34, or how subtle Y argument is at 23:45, and backpedal on point Z at 34:56 because that point was too raunchy, factually wrong, or not believable. Then I'm gonna post about it on my forum, either ironically or seriously, supporting or condemning said video. People will then battle among themselves what shade of gray they see it as and why their shade of grey is right and the other gray is wrong. Eventually you ask your friends and co-workers, sometimes in a more abstract way like "hey, would you ever do X to a person you didn't like, what would it take to do X" and turns into "well, after hearing your answer, you should check out this video about this guy doing this thing that is kinda related to what I asked you", and the cycle begins anew. People like to debate things, whether it be enjoying listening to themselves talk or genuinely being concerned for the subject matter. It is no surprise that this system supports itself, how youtube generates hits and encourages quick, frequent content over longer more time consuming projects. It is way easier to create a questionable scenario and allow people to do the work of promotion for them.
Hasn't drama always been a part of YouTube more or less though? The focus is really on it now because of Keemstar and such, but if you go far back enough you can find people like TheArchfiend who were insulting popular YouTubers for views, and Vloggers who made videos about drama happening on the site. Regardless, Cpn Crunch21's post is really good on this, I think we all could admit we do find drama interesting for a time, but there is always a burn out if it goes too war.
Someone send this to GradeA or something. Holy shit I knew Keem is an asshole but to this degree, I wouldnt have guessed.
Chances are he actually knows about keem's assholeness but chooses to ignore it, since, as far as he's concerned, he's friendly to him. Shit like that happens way more than it has any right to
There is simply no way he doesn't know about the truly horrible shit Keemstar has done, it's unavoidable and everyone knows he's a pretty big prick, so he's very likely had countless evidence pushed in his face which he has chosen to ignore. Keemstar is manipulating Grade because Keemstar knows his reputation is complete shit and needs respected people for allies in order to keep up the image he's "fair". Despite my earlier comments about Grade, I do like him but it's so annoying to see him back up Keem. Also, the woody apology just shows us he didn't look into that shit and just took Keemstar's word for it and pretty much told harmful lies about Woody without doing any research. Also knowing about the true nature of the woody-keemstar feud is enough to make anyone realize Keem's a giant cunt.
Not to derail conversation or anything (but to derail it a little bit), but does anyone else see the resemblance between Jack Douglass and the guy who made Unicorn Kingdom Club way back? Something like a decade ago at this point.
When he started stirring up drama shit, which conspicuously happened shortly after he promised he'd make more videos in exchange for Patreon support.
do you care to clarify on what he started? im totally out of the loop i guess
