Looks really scripted
FUCK, THAT LAST GUY goddamn i've never felt so sorry for a game character
To the many people saying it's scripted... it's very likely not true. If you have played Uncharted 3 you will totally understand, like in the bar fight. ND have said in an interview they have made the AI incredibly smart, in most games shooting at enemies will just make them shoot back, but in this game, they react, panic, act differently. They have always made amazing improvements in their games, i thought they outdid themselves with Uncharted 3, but now i really know there's just no stopping them from making these amazing impossible games.

Holy shit this looks great.

Would buy, but don't own a PS3. Damn it.
Naughty Dog only makes games for Sony since 1996, just so you guys know.
Personally I don't really see the hype but then again these aren't the kinds of games I really go for. Just seems like another linear game focused on the cinematics. Not that it's a bad thing, but again, I don't really care for that.

I wonder if you HAVE to kill all those guys or not. I wonder if you can just circumvent the entire conflict.

Seeing as how a crosshair appears, I'm going to assume the player as complete control over what's happening right here. What happens if you don't shoot him? :v:
Most of it is probably scripted seeing as it is an E3 presentation and all But holy shit, this game looks so awesome. Everything about it so far is great, the voice acting, script, graphics, sound design, everything. [editline]5th June 2012[/editline] I hope that you can play as the little girl though
About the people worried about it being scripted, all of Naughty Dog's previous E3 presentations from games like Uncharted 2 were all real levels in the game and actually played like that in the retail version, so I'm pretty sure this isn't scripted.
Looks really scripted
Frankly, that would be fine with me, but it can't be. How could they predetermine how you use your bullets? Also, their scarce use of music is awesome.
The main character is being a total PKer.
I'm very much looking forward to this game. It's a great setting that naughty dog saw was popular and fixed it: a post apocalyptic game that isn't rendered from zombies or nukes. It seems like a great gritty survival type of game as well where you are constantly scrounging for supplies, gun fights are undesirable thanks to the scarcity of ammunition, and the idea that the city has already been more or less picked clean by looters. I'm also excited about your sidekick solely because of the idea that she's that young. You as the main character have lived before, during, and after the unnamed event that rendered the world a rubble strewn mess. So you know what you're doing and why, you know how life was and why it is like that now. Meanwhile, this little girl, this IS her life, this is her "normal", she was born into a world already in this state. She's amazed with pre-event life and is always asking questions about it. It gives so much opportunity for character development on the protagonists part, as well as reflection.
Seeing as how a crosshair appears, I'm going to assume the player as complete control over what's happening right here. What happens if you don't shoot him? :v:
What I really want to know is what happens if they spot you before you spot them? Or, what happens if you just walk up to them?
The only problem i see is whenever there are enemies the HUD comes up showing health and ammo, I hope in the full release there is a way to turn this always on, toggle it or turn it off completely.
Hardly scripted at all, that's the beauty of this game. Naughty dog are the gods of this kind of stuff.
If this is how the game truly, really plays. By God. I must have this.
Wow, half the posts in this thread are people bitching about how it's PS3 exclusive and how they don't want to pay $250 dollars for just one game. Guess what guys, there is, in fact, a multitude of games worth playing on the PS3. That doesn't include things still in development (like, I dunno, The Last of Us). Just go buy a PS3, it's a good investment for your gaming future.
Just go buy a PS3, it's a good investment for your gaming future.
Clearly not. I largely prefer to get my games on PC.
NaughtyDog doesn't disappoint.
Brick in the face.
It always bothered me how in alot of games with a cover system your head sticks out from the cover, but the enemies somehow still don't hit or see you. [editline]5th June 2012[/editline] Also this is what I am alive should've been.
It's strange to me, thinking about all the time I spent playing Crash Bandicoot when I was a kid. Now to see games like this coming from the same devs... I dunno. It's like they grew up with me.
Clearly not. I largely prefer to get my games on PC.
Clearly not? Did you watch the content that this thread is about? Have you played the Uncharted series or MGS4? Clearly not.
