Maybe someone likes the look of The Last of Us but they don't like MGS4 or Uncharted? It's called opinions. Every game isn't going to be universally liked by every person.

Which is a shame because this looks god damn beautiful
Looked more like Ellen Page for me.
Her VA is actually Ellen Page.

Actually, the ps3 is a powerful little beast. If developers must develop for a console at all, it should be the ps3 as it isn't 7 year old outdated technology that has to have its hardware pushed to it absolutely maximum.
The ps3 is like a lower end gaming pc. it's got some oomf to get games looking pretty nice with great framerates. Plus ps3 developed games make for better pc ports.
HOly fuck.
Is it bad i'm considering getting a PS3 just for this game?
NO thats what they want me to think...
[editline]/[/editline]
but it just looks...soo good...
this is what I'm feeling atm, it just looks so good. and it feels real, and the level design.
This looks amazing. Makes me wish I had a PS3.
Looks great, but also extremely similar to Uncharted. Hopefully they'll show some of the more unique gameplay.
Post Apocalypse
Violent Father
Insightful Child
This sounds exactly like The Road. When I made the connection, I was excited that the game would bring the same kind of atmosphere and story. The difference between the two, though, is how violence is portrayed, and that's what threw me off a bit about this game. Nice premise though.

Yeah, there are games I would like to play (such as 'Uncharted' and the 'Last of Us', which is indeed looks cool) but spending a lot of cash on a console for only a very few (exclusive) games is kind of stupid.

Which make the purpose of buying a PS3 even more pointless if you already have a decent PC.

i don't think the kid is his real daughter, doesn't really give off that father-daughter vibe.
Well I'll definitely watch a 'lets play' of this when it's out. :/

She isn't, but the relationship is like it.
Her VA is actually Ellen Page.
No it isn't. Her voice actor is Ashley Johnson, who played the blonde hall monitor from King of the Hill, Terra from Teen Titans, Gwen Tennyson from Ben Ten (sadly, where I recognized her voice from) and some other minor roles.
I'm very much looking forward to this game. It's a great setting that naughty dog saw was popular and fixed it: a post apocalyptic game that isn't rendered from zombies or nukes. It seems like a great gritty survival type of game as well where you are constantly scrounging for supplies, gun fights are undesirable thanks to the scarcity of ammunition, and the idea that the city has already been more or less picked clean by looters.
I'm also excited about your sidekick solely because of the idea that she's that young. You as the main character have lived before, during, and after the unnamed event that rendered the world a rubble strewn mess. So you know what you're doing and why, you know how life was and why it is like that now. Meanwhile, this little girl, this IS her life, this is her "normal", she was born into a world already in this state. She's amazed with pre-event life and is always asking questions about it. It gives so much opportunity for character development on the protagonists part, as well as reflection.
It's got "zombies" in it though. http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2012/03/25/a-closer-look-at-the-last-of-us-39-infected.aspx
I'm so glad my dad bought PS3 for its blu-ray when it first came out now. I don't usually console game but I'll definitely pick this up.
naughty dog = amazing gameplay + amazing storyline.
Gonna get this

except the road looked down upon violence pretty strongly. ultimately you can't make a third-person shooter without rewarding violence.
I bet there will be "The Last of Us - The Movie" when this game is out, like the Uncharted series.
Freaking PS3 exclusive. If they just wait a FEW more months and make it for the PC then they could pull in a whole other market.
but nooooo. Stupid marketing schemes. The people dead set on buying this aren't going to be like "Oh, it's for the PC and Xbox now? I have to wait an extra few months to get it? I just wont get it..."
That's great and everything but my platform isn't the PS3.

Why? It's optimized for the PS3 and the devs have been making games for Sony since the 90's.
I am so glad I own a PS3.
As others said, this is so brutal, I love it. I was cheering him on when he got a shotgun to the face.
I'd love to see this on PC, not because I don't have a PS3, but because it could look so much better on PC. The aliasing everywhere was bothering me when watching this.
I hope I can have the PS3 when I move out this summer, so I can play this game when I move into my dormitory.
Well I was going to sell my PS3 for some extra cash, but NOPE.
This has a really positive Uncharted-vibe in it.
Looks very cinematic and it's an exclusive for a console I'd only buy for this game.
Yep, looks like I'm going to dig through a couple of Let's Plays/walkthroughs. The good stuff without a guy talking unfunny BS 24/7 and with a million captions that urge you to like/subscribe.
Looks really scripted
I dunno, there were so many parts where it could have gone completely differently. What if the player was spotted outside on the roof? What if he took down the guy he took hostage? What if he didn't run out of ammo? What if he didn't use a molotov? What if he didn't get mauled by that last guy?
Unless the player just played in a way to make those things look like choices, it seems like they've prepared events for whatever path you take. Or the AI is incredible.
It's probably mostly scripted like 90% of E3 demos but when this was on live we all agreed the little things like the guy reacting at you dry firing the revolver ("I knooow that sooound!") practically made the game.
Very pretty and somewhat unique for a postapocalyptic (That's a ton of vegetation!)
