I hope this game will be released on PC imo.
It reminds me a lot of 'I am a Legend'
how? last of us is mostly about crazy people, not infected/zombies
It really looks great but the fact it's console exclusive just makes me want to forget about it.
That looks damn amazing, I want a PS3 now. Luckily my friend has one, so I can just go to his house and play. :v:

uh.. abandonded city taken back by nature?
I still don't get this. Should I be hoping the person I'm playing dies?
the point is that by being so brutal you're no better than the fucker that you just murdered
to see the sheer look of terror on his face is supposed to be unsettling

It won't ever get released on the pc just like all of Naughty Dog's games.
to see the sheer look of terror on his face is supposed to be unsettling
Everyone is out to kill each other in this it seems. I see no reason to be bothered by it.
And people said I was stupid for not getting an Xbox 2 years ago.
As soon as I heard that NaughtyDog were making a game I knew that it was going to be just as badass as the Uncharted series, and then I saw the trailer, and then I saw this.
Really excited for this one.
To the many people saying it's scripted... it's very likely not true. If you have played Uncharted 3 you will totally understand, like in the bar fight.
ND have said in an interview they have made the AI incredibly smart, in most games shooting at enemies will just make them shoot back, but in this game, they react, panic, act differently.
They have always made amazing improvements in their games, i thought they outdid themselves with Uncharted 3, but now i really know there's just no stopping them from making these amazing impossible games.
Even if it is, just look at it. It's amazing.
Everyone is out to kill each other in this it seems. I see no reason to be bothered by it.
Surviving is one thing, shooting an unarmed injured dude who's begging for his life with a shotgun to the face is a completely different thing.
I'm guessing there isn't a 'Let him run away' option. If you choose not to shoot him he'll probably play it cool, stand up, then start attacking you again.
Or there might be that option, what do i know?
Surviving is one thing, shooting an unarmed injured dude who's begging for his life with a shotgun to the face is a completely different thing.
You mean the guy that 5 seconds earlier was trying to choke you to death right after trying to take you down with a big wooden plank?
Edit: And so if I let him go, he's in a area with loads of his dead buddies who dropped weapons, he could easily just grab one and come up behind me and take revenge.
Looks really scripted
It does, but believe me it probably isn't. Naughty Dog started going with the scripted look around Uncharted, by Uncharted 2 almost all of the close quarters fighting looks scripted, but it's actually quite dependant on how you play as the player. I haven't played the third so I can't comment on it.
Their AI is usually quite smart. For example, if he hadn't wasted all the ammo he had on the first few guys, the last section would have played out entirely differently in terms of how he fought. It looks like the partner AI will try and help you if she can (such as the brick throw, which may not have happened if he had shot the guy).
There will be a certain amount of scripting I expect, such as interactions with the environment during a fight (slamming that guy into the desk, for example), but that's just to ensue that the sequence works, not that it will always happen.
It's strange to me, thinking about all the time I spent playing Crash Bandicoot when I was a kid. Now to see games like this coming from the same devs... I dunno. It's like they grew up with me.
ND have pretty much confirmed this is what they are doing. They seem to like the idea of growing with their fans, the people that used to play their games as kids are now playing theirs games as adults, with the games changing to fit what their fans would like.
Crash Bandicoot, a simple fantasy platformer, little violence, simple plot, Infant/ Pre-teen audience.
Jak & Daxter, a fantasy platformer with heavy focus on the combat elements compared to Crash, pre-teen, teen audience.
Uncharted, a reality based platformer with a heavy focus on gunplay and brutal hand to hand, teen to adult audience.
The Last Of Us, Narrative based survival game with a focus on decision making and storyline, adult audience.
The little girl sounds a lot older than she looks. But I like the look of the game
Edit: Maybe thats the point
Looks like what I Am Alive should have been.
However, I'm going to wait until I see more. This looks too good to be true. I know it's a different company but remember when Bethesda released Oblivion gameplay?

It seemed amazing yet in the end it was almost nothing like the finished game. I have a nagging suspicion that this might be the case here.
Hasn't happened with Naughty Dog yet. They showed off the Uncharteds, and they were amazing.
Her voice is so deep
Why not do both and have the best of both worlds like me? I've got a gaming PC and a PS3 and apart from games like HALO which I have zero interest in, there's hardly any game I can't buy. Because most Xbox games come out for PC if they're not out on PS3.
I really do like my PC and it's games, put a lot of money into it. But some games were mean't be be played on a console with a controller.
Because money, there's no point in buying a PS3 for it to colect dust throughout the year. Also Graphics and keyboard + mouse, this isn't a fighting game as far as i know, so no, it's not "made for a gamepad".

Third person games do tend to feel better on gamepads.
But anyway, the PS3 wouldn't sit there collecting dust throughout the year if you were to look into most of the exclusives, and Store content. And as a media machine it's quite powerful. It's a good investment if you actually intend on finding good games to play on it.

I don't care about most of the exclusives, and anything with a gun you have to point feels infinitely better with a mouse.
If i used it as a blu-ray player, then that's one fucking expensive Blu-ray player, if that's what you mean by media machine.

Well then the system just doesn't appeal to you. Simple enough, and there's nothing wrong with that.
Like hexpunK, I bought the PS3 as a compliment to my PC. Sony has a shitload of exclusives and the PS3 is still one of the best blu-ray players out there thanks to the power of the system itself. My PC gets almost all of the games released on Xbox 360 anyway, so no point in owning one of those.
Really, it's all about preference. Sony has exclusives that I like and Blu-ray that I like, and some games just "feel" better on a console in my opinion. If you aren't the same, ain't nothing wrong with that.

It's more than a Blu-ray player. Considering you can stream shit from any PC in your house through it, play Blu-ray, Netflix, almost all Flash content, etc. It's pretty much a more condensed media PC, just with some restrictions and the capability to play games. It was (and might still be) considered the best Blu-ray player available because of this, it has more features, and was cheaper than most of the players on the market.
[editline]6th June 2012[/editline]
And like JeanLuc said, it works well as a complement for a PC. You get access to (in my opinion anyway), higher quality exclusive games, while being able to use it as a media machine. While your PC can take the bulk of your gaming needs with a massive library of both AAA and indie titles available.

Exactly, I'm not going to buy something I don't need to play a handful of games, it's not worth the investment, it's called having a preference, and a single game is not going to change that.
That's why exclusivity just for the sake of it is fucking retarded, they could profit 3x as much by making this multiplatform.

It's not really "exclusivity just for the sake of it." Naughty Dog has been with Sony since the beginning and they appear to have a great business relationship. People laughed when the PS3 first came out but Sony now has (arguably) the most talented and certainly the largest stable of system-exclusive developers as partners. This leads to more sales for Sony themselves.
Exclusivity is kind of a necessary evil in some ways. If it didn't exist, then there'd be no point to having multiple consoles since you might as well just buy one and be done with it. But if there was only one console/platform, then there'd be a monopoly and the lack of competition would be infinitely worse for consumers since you'd be forced to deal with whatever the fuck they threw at you.

That's not true at all, i would never buy an xbox over a PS3 and the games have nothing to do with it, the hardware and services are what really makes a console.
There's a reason some people prefer the PC, and it's not WoW or the few exclusives.
ill definitely have to check this out
Looks linear as piss, unfortunately. And it being a PS exclusive means I won't be playing it
Shame

Linear games aren't inherently bad. A survival game can work if it's linear by just being stingy with supplies, making every use count.

Not necessarily, I'm not trying to argue PC gaming master race shit but if more people gamed on PC we wouldn't have to take whatever the fuck they threw at us considering we could just build our own machines.
[editline]5th June 2012[/editline]
Not to mention PCs are for much more than gaming so there'd have to be variety anyway.
Mmm, I regret buying a 360
I don't even own any 360 exclusives; I wonder what I was thinking when I bought it
