You'd find pictures of my tranny op
Oh that's nothing, hell that post TB made way back isn't even the worst thing you could have dug up :v: An image so bad that when his wife made a video about it, it got taken for from youtube because it got flagged for bullying :v:
It's so weird to see how the way he looks does not fit his voice at all.
Well to be honest that's not really the most flattering picture of him out there :v:
Well to be honest that's not really the most flattering picture of him out there :v:
Post link, I'll pay you in blood later :v:
Post link, I'll pay you in blood later :v:
I already posted it :v: To be honest the beard helped a lot, as beards tend to do.
Now on this picture his voice fits more.
He doesn't even look British
He doesn't even look British
Now you're just nitpicking :v:
Well from what I can see,TB does care about his fans to some degree since he would sometimes cover events that would just lead him to getting less money than if he were to just pump out normally.
Well from what I can see,TB does care about his fans to some degree since he would sometimes cover events that would just lead him to getting less money than if he were to just pump out normally.
As he puts it, he cares for his viewers, not his fans, he hates the word fan since it comes from fanatic.
Since this is basically TotalBiscuit general discussion like all threads on his videos, here's a comment on The Bore Z. On topic, he cares about his viewers as a whole, just not individually. That's what the entire video was about, so I find it strange how frequently that was missed.
Well basically, he's also supposed to be cynical that's his motto, so being a dick and all that is his youtube persona, people dislike him for that because they don't understand it.
[img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/JF1Dk.png[/img_thumb] Added bonus, A thread he made on something awful: http://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=2634792
What a load of twats in that SA thread. He says "I'm a law graduate bla bla IQ 155" because part of what he is saying is that religious people aren't as thick as self appointed intellectuals treat them as. Its a visible trend on FP even. You can be wise and intellectual even as a faithful person is one of the things you can see in the post. Noone in that thread made a counter argument or debate, they only took a huge shit on his post- which as someone that reguarly posts on tabletop wargaming forums whereby debate of game mechanics and gameplay/tactics is commonplace, is extremely fucking irritating. Thats perfectly reasonable to be telling us his IQ- 155 isn't even that impressive, and he's not showing it off. He's using it as a way of setting up his point.
He's missed the point of as to why people were shocked by that comment It was not that he wouldn't take requests that pissed people off, but the arrogant "I don't need you" attitude he had, which while he may very well not need them, it still makes you look like a self centred wanker.
Everybody I watch constantly thanks the fans and does things for the fans while asking for more things they can do to make the fans happier Those TB comments just make it sound like all of his subscribers are expendable and easily replaced so it doesn't matter if he treats them like shit Kind of a dick move since those people help put the money in his wallet
He makes two videos a day, how is that not giving his fans anything? He isn't treating anyone like shit, he's being real.

I'd react in the same way.

I subscribed to him because of this video :)
Honestly I find the main appeal of TB is he's quite informative and funny at times.
I don't really watch TB, as I often disagree with the way he sees things. That's fine, I'm not bothered what he really thinks. However, stuff like this gives me a huge sense of respect for this guy. Through the common uneducated fluff on YouTube, he shines through as a beacon of hope for intelligence. When he makes a point, he argues it well, no matter how I see it. I salute his diligence and willingness to be in control of his own content, as opposed to people who simply decide what he should do. Let me just say this, requests aren't fun. When a game is requested to have a video created regarding it, it loses its touch. You can fantasize about how awesome a video on a particular subject or game would be from a specific person, but ultimately, unless the person had plans to do such a video previously, it is bound to be disappointing, as it loses some of the genuine feel if you say what people want to hear. And if you display a negative response to a heavily requested game which people want to see a positive response to, then that is the equivalent of throwing yourself into a pool of famished sharks. Therefore, requesting a certain video is simply stupid. You will either end up with a video which doesn't feel genuine, or a video which masses of people disagree with. It's pointless to try and say otherwise, content creators make what they enjoy. They make things personal to them. Without that, they are nothing.
Honestly I think TB is reaching that stage where the same old same old is getting fucking annoying as hell. In the beginning, when you are getting a following, you need to act as though you are walking on glass, so people will like your shit and your subscribers/readers/members/whatever will continue to grow. But after you reach a certain point of popularity, for a lot of people, they stop sugar coating things. Garry for example. The excuse of "he's Garry he bans who he wants" wouldn't fly back in 2007. But he's fucking rich now so who gives a shit? It's his forum. I was an admin on a tiny little website with a few hundred regulars back in the day. At first, when someone broke a rule, it was: "You broke rule 3, this is your first warning, please don't do it again." After 3 years of the same shit, it eventually turned into: "What the fuck are you doing? Did you even read the fucking rules?" I think that's whats going on with TB. He's popular enough, and has seen this bullshit enough, that he doesn't want to deal with it any more. People who use the "I'M UNSUBBING I HOPE YOU FEEL BAD" excuse are the fucking worst anyway.
I wouldn't, I'd stand by my opinion sure but I wouldn't be rude to him. If he's rude then I'd ignore him.
There comes a point in running a business where your constitutents go from "people" to "figures." TB has passed that point. Plus after a while such comments wear a person down. If this was the first or fifth time he'd seen this comment I'd agree with you, but how many times do you think he's gotten a "You should review [Obscure/Mediocre Game here?]" He just sat down and wrote a raw explanation on why he's not taking requests. Personally, I'd do the same thing if I was in his shoes. Yeah, you could say that it's still rude and he should control himself, but that takes us back to the original point I'm making; these aren't people, they're viewers. Viewers don't deserve the same amount of respect that an actual human being does, viewers are replaceable, the people behind the username for all intents and purposes don't exist (road rage is a good example of how this dehumanizing effect comes into play.) Hell, who here would say to a stranger on the street half of what they've said to users or anonymous posters on forums/message boards?
I'm comfortable with the people I subscribe to, for no reaosn other than "they make stuff I like" not considering me a major integral part of their viewerbase. I couldn't give two shits if biscuit doesn't think what I want is important, he makes stuff I watch every now and again and I enjoy it. He always maintained a "I don't take requests" policy, so I'm surprised he bothered to reply. He replied saying that the guy no longer watching his videos is unimportant. Woo. wooo I care so much. So long as he keeps making videos that I like, I don't care what he calls whoever. He stopped seeing his viewers as people and more as figures? I'd have done that after 100k subscribers, and his videos haven't changed so I can't fathom why anyone gives a shit other than being overly sensitive.
I get what you're saying, but you couldn't have chosen a worse example. The forums have never been more lenient with bans than they are now.
For the most part, no, but as I recall Garry didn't start banning with the reason "Because I'm Garry" until a year or two ago.
If only he pretended to be polite he would've avoided all the shit. He seems to miss the point every single time that people don't dislike him because he doesn't take requests, but because he's rude about it. All he'd need to do is have a polite "Sorry, but I don't take requests", or simply ignore anyone requesting anything. It's uncommon to expect a response from any 'famous' person, so they would be less disappointed. Insulting your viewers is bad no matter how you look at it, and somehow he doesn't seem to understand this.

Also, TB reuploaded the video:
TB seems like quite the realist, the world needs more of those.
He used to be pretty skinny too.
