I do think everyone should have an absolute basic knowledge of cooking. You should at the very least know how to cook eggs, or make rice.
if you can't cook an egg, or cook a little bit of meat, to even a small amount of edibility, you are an objectively stupid person. It doesn't even require steps. It's literally just "oh, you put it over a fire, and then wait"
I'm not stupid, I'm lazy.
Just google the recipe and follow it. Cooking is easy as fuck.
but what if I mess up?????? *heavy breathing*
It's true though. Cooking is so fucking easy. Dunno why are so many people so scared.
Well in my experience, it's because you don't know where to begin. Like, imagine if I asked you to paint something. A lot of people would find that easy to do but you likely wouldn't know where to begin, what brush to use, how to use that brush and what to even paint and how to even paint, what the methods are or anything, really. It's something that you can just grow up enjoying but not having the slightest clue what actually goes in to it. I grew up eating entirely shit like corn dogs and chicken nuggets that were pre-made and you just stuck in the microwave. Hot pockets, ramen, all that shit. So when it comes to cooking it's alarming because I quite literally know nothing about how to cook, and I figure plenty of other people go through the same thing. What do I cook with, why do I need oils and what oils would I use, what would I cook, what can I cook with, and oh god what are all these seasonings and shit I'm going to get food poisoning and die it's easier than it looks to be sure but it's something that I think you have to spend time doing before you get a sense of what you can do and get comfortable with it, and it becomes like riding a bike. I mean honestly one thing I'm learning is that it seems like you could pretty much go to the store, buy potatos, cheese, onions, whatever you like, throw that shit on the stove and make a bowl of delicious shit and pretty much all you really did was throw random ingredients on the stove.
Learned how to cook yet? Good Now take the test Assessment Attached
TBH I'm more on Jeremy Clarksons side on this one.
I thought it would be a good idea to take up some kind of hobby. So my new hobby is called 'going out to restaurants and letting people who know what they're doing cook my food.'

TBH I'm more on Jeremy Clarksons side on this one.
While I love eating out anytime; it's just not good at all for saving money when it stacks up
I cook my own food because restaurants are expensive. Americans don't have this problem so they don't learn how to cook and eat out 4 to 5 times a week. America's ridiculous rates of obesity stem from this problem of not cooking.
He should collab with Internet comment etiquette.
That's not a good idea because unlike Maddox, Internet Comment Etiquette is actually good.
There are loads of tasty dishes (various pasta dishes come to mind) that literally no one will be able to fuck up in a fashion that would render them inedible - at least not on purpose. I wouldn't get mad at a person who can't even cook spaghetti, but honestly where's the ambition.
