Overdosing on HYPE
I can really dig the Nazis controlling the world. I hope it doesn't end on a cookie cutter "America fuck yeah" ending though.
What are P-51's going to do against Jet Fighters? Also appears at one point there is a mission where you're a gunner in some sort of 6 engine bomber.

I'm really amazed that this idea hasn't been done to death yet, really.
Even though the "rebels fight tyrannical government" stuff is getting old, it has for some reason not been done with Nazis yet.
What really grabbed my attention was the Doom Beta thing though.
Edit: Also Singleplayer only. Fuck yeah, no half-assed campaign allowed.
In this game I'm hoping for:
-Return to castle Wolfenstein
-Mecha Hitler
I really want this to be good.
Why is it "just" called doom? Does bethesda want to reboot doom?

IIRC, the story takes place after you kill Hitler in Wolf3D

Doom 3 was already a reboot.
I loved the 2009 Wolfenstein. Can't wait to get this.

I know its probably because it was an older game, but Return to Castle Wolfenstein had both an amazing campaign AND an amazing multiplayer.
Kinda glad they arent doing MP in this one though, the multiplayer on the Wolfenstein that came out a few days ago was terrible, which was quite sad because RTCW and Enemy Territory are my favorite childhood multiplayer games.
I will pre-order as soon as it is on Steam.
secretly hoping for occult stuff

That's the real question, why is it not on Steam yet?
It's slated to release on May 20th, and there's no mention whether or not it will be available with the bonus on Steam.
And I have never ever heard of these fucking retailers they offer for Switzerland. We have Gamestop too, why is it not there?

Interestingly enough, the trailer doesn't list any consoles, or PC.

Bottom of the site has all this, but no Steam Logo.

Looks cheesy in the best way
Interestingly enough, the trailer doesn't list any consoles, or PC.
The retailer links have them for PC, PS3, Xbox 360, PS4 and Xbox One.
But what the hell, two of the links for Switzerland are broken, and one of them only leads to the Ps3 version.
And on those 2 links which work, the Xbox one and PS4 version of the game is priced at 100 Dollars, (converted from 90 Swiss Francs), while the PC version is only 75 Dollars (65 Swiss francs).
What the fuck?
Is it just me or are there quite a bit of Tarantino vibes going around? Some of the characters and dialogue feel very Tarantino-esque and the way the title appears at the end in every trailer looks like something straight out of a Tarantino movie.
Well shit. Now I got another reason to buy it.
IIRC, the story takes place after you kill Hitler in Wolf3D
His head wasn't destroyed.
This is coming out in May?!
Right on finals week :suicide:
oh boy it comes out 6 days before my birthday, what a nice surprise c:

I didn't remember that so looked it up, you're right!

Definitely looking forward to this game now.
I'm a little (very) pissed that the only way for me to preorder this at the moment is with German localisation (and probably censors as well)
Stuff like this is why I prefer services such as Steam over retail. No stupid hassle over shipping, installation and languages, and it's never out of stock.
Hell yeah, I get some oldschool shooter vibes from this trailer. While every recent game that was marketed as appealing to oldschool shooter franchise fans was a major letdown in that way, I have a good feeling about wolfenstein. The huge guns, dual wielding, the gore, the silly scenario... just feels right
One thing just bothers me: I'm getting kinda bored with how some media assumes they gain moral immunity by making the antagonists all nazis (or any other group associated with pure evil) so the viewer is okay with whatever gruesome things are done to them.
I get that Wolfenstein is mindless slaughtering fun and I am totally into that, but for every 50 games that do this I'd like to see at least one that shows some moral depth or explores the insane complexity of such themes.
ahh
a
ahhhh
AHHH THE HYPE
AHHHH
Probably going to be dumb and not very good, but a decent diversion. I'll pick it up for twenty bucks one day.

Will be interesting to see a world opressed and changed by the regime, but also experiencing huge technological advancement because the nazi party was so keen with science.
Can't wait for the game
