Our school uses this one called SIMS, and it has a built in behaviour thing, where teachers can make comments about you.
Our school uses this one called SIMS, and it has a built in behaviour thing, where teachers can make comments about you.
I have that too.
Our school uses something called WinhaWille, it's ok for what it does, but for some reason it takes like fucking 30 seconds to log in. It's handy since it's just a website. Done with ASP.net, ugh.
All the videos of those hitler parodys are being taken down from youtube by copyright laws.
The hell, I live in Surrey and i didn't know shit bout this.
Huh? I live in Vancouver, I have never seen this
my old school board uses firstclass and some error-prone, super-slow asp-based sis.
We used to use some piece of crap software suite called SIMS.net here, and almost once a week we would get a tannoy saying 'all teachers get your pen and paper out it's broken again.' and for the first week of this year we had to use paper again. Now we use some web-based piece of HTML rubbish called Lisol pathways. Education and technology don't seem to mix >.<
Seeing as my college has a programming class, we made our own program. Yay go us!
We use something called Edukate.
We use Novell. It won't let the school update there AV.
There 100s of sites "eSchool" where teachers enter marks and homework online and students and parents can view them and contact teachers trough it etc.
Something just like this in Scotland.
We're using Infinite Campus. http://www.infinitecampus.com/ It's okay, I'm not a big fan of the interface but it gets the job done. The school hosts it onsite and the state can access our information, which is sorta cool. New this year is the requirement for all teachers to post our grades instantly to see all of our grades before the end of the quarter. Sideways scrolling :frogsiren:
Over here in manitoba, we use a better program, I think it's called first class or something.
I live on Vancouver Island, and I've never heard of BCesis, our school uses First Class. It works perfectly, no crashes or anything.
My school uses a thing called "skyward". It's a slow piece of shit that looks like it belongs in the 90's, but at least it works.
We use SIMs
Our school uses this one called SIMS, and it has a built in behaviour thing, where teachers can make comments about you.
Our school has a system like that. I got a comment in Year 7 because my teacher thought I was too happy and smiley compared to my "usual serious self". I got another one in Year 10 because my friend wrote penisland in my History book.
Over here in manitoba, we use a better program, I think it's called first class or something.
We use the same thing in Newfoundland. Do you guys have k12 planet?
All of Australia uses a centralized system known as SIS I though ours was shit until i read about this, Each school has its own data base they login to which then synchronizes nightly to the central servers at the department of education where I work :D This allows for stable and lag free operation.
We use a site called schoolloop
Thank god I graduated from the BC public school system in '09.
Better than what my schools use to use. Something called sassy? Let me see if I can find it.... Nope, can't find it. But it constantly went down, was easily hackable in about 5 minutes, tried it myself to prove, and it froze every 3 fucking seconds.
SASI http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SASI_%28software%29 Yeah, SASI's shit.
Where I live teachers use Powerschool. It's sort of slow but it's easy to use.

M y school's always going EVERY 5 MINUTES 'ATTENTION ALL TEACHERS, SASI IS DOWN, PLEASE MARK STUDENT GRADES IN HANDWRITING'
In handwriting?
We have Infinite Campus, but they have this one program called SMART Sync, which locks computers when the teachers want to. Very easy to get by, though. Just unplug the Ethernet cable before logging in, then plug back in after you are in.
