Typical shows when I was younger would be
Are you afraid of the dark?
Goose bumps
Hey Arnold Halloween specials.
goosebumps for sure

don't think it was a kid show but i swear to god it's aired on the old kids wb or something like that before
This reminds me of an animated kids show I used to watch with the Crypt keeper and it would show stories, I only remember the bully turning into a werewolf one and the people getting stuck underground one.
that's the show i was thinking of, it's the kids' cartoon version.
Tales From the Crypt isn't really a kids' show, though
Boy, I remember watching Goosebumps almost every Halloween on video at school.
It would always be about the one with the mask that wouldn't ever come off.
I was a wimp man. Wouldn't even so much as go by any unsettling masks.
I would dress up as Pikachu and Agumon years after because of that flick.
Goosebumps and Are You Afraid of the Dark? fucked me up when I was little.
Oh, and for some reason the episode of the original Scooby Doo with the pirate cove scared me shitless.
I don't remember the name, this was about when i was 4-5 years. But it was fucking scary. The opening is like this: It's like a slum quarters of a city, and you zoom in on a cinema. A young boy enters, and watches some movie. He gets a bucket of popcorn but there's FUCKING WORMS in it. AND I THINK HE ATE THEM :barf: I only remember one episode, and i only remember the ending. I remember something about a cow, a heavy iron box and blood beneath the box as it hit the ground after it fell from the sky.
And the scariest thing was that i think it was a childrens show :ohdear:
Grisly tales for gruesome kids.
For lovers of... SQUEAAM!
God i loved that show.

I love how the americans in this thread find the INTRO terrifying, When the books and the tv show was made to be mildly gallows/dark/black humor/comedy.

Pah. I eat that shit for a midnight snack and then poop SUNSHINE IN THE MORNING, MAGGET. I guess it's probably because england is a terrifying place, but we have some of the best horror stuff, Especially when you consider that you all pissed yourselves at a comedic show with a lilt of the macabre
Goosebumps is better.
I remember watching that show, and I didn't find it scary compared to this.
I remember watching that show, and I didn't find it scary compared to this.
Hahaha! Grizzly Tales is bloody comedic! It's black comedy! It's pitch-black comedy designed for children! Hahahaaaaaa!
ooohhh mercy. You americans are so used to corny horror.
Goosebumps.
That episode with the dummys that come alive scared the shit out of me when i was young.
When I was a child, even the opening sequence of Goosebumps used to freak me out. :ohdear:
Oh the glowing eyes dog. :ohdear:
Goosebumps was awesome. That dog with the glowing eyes in the intro always scared the pubes off me as a kid (??), and I had to cover my eyes.
Let's watch it now!

Goosebumps is the shit...
Anyone ever notice how Candle Cove has a weird way of numbering episodes?
Oh jesus nostalgia.
how is that scary at all
They were born in 1996.
Boy, I remember watching Goosebumps almost every Halloween on video at school.

The scene, where the masks were floating and chasing the girl scared the shit out of me. Hell it probably still would creep me out.
The amount of nostalgia in this thread is unbelievable.
Gonna look up some old CITV programs now.
Candle Cove
I remember that show..... Never thought it was scary though.....

Hahahah CITV
ITV hates children, that is a known fact. The only good kids' stuff on ITV was Up On The Roof (and possibly Toonatik, when I saw Charlie Brooker on it I nearly choked on my cornflakes).

Man, even the terrain in England is fucking terrifying. The moors kill people every year because they trip over something.
You have massive balls to live there.
As far as the show, I was to young to appreciate most of this. But I still watched it all the time on DVD. I would always check them out from the video store. Mostly just the biggies like the one with the puppets.
Edit: I mean Goosebumps, they didn't have Afraid of the Dark or the Grizzly Tales stuff.
Slappy episodes from Goosebumps gave me so many damn nightmares.

Slappy isnt scary
You just lack an imagination.
Look at his fucking eyes.
Oh fuck I always loved that show so fucking much
Though no matter how good CITV was, My childhood preferred CBBC
That's because the BBC care.
[editline]08:45PM[/editline]
Hell they're getting adult stand-up comedians to do kids' shows now. Meanwhile ITV are trying to get Ofcom to let them off the children's programming requirements.
