STOP IT ALL OF YOU! I thought I could draw. I've been told by art teachers that I can draw very well, and that I should be doing it at GCSE. And then you go and post stuff that I can only imagine drawing and it's like you are repeatedly kicking my talent in the balls. And as I learnt from my friend: Guys should never kick other guys in the balls. And If a woman does it she's just a fucking bitch.

Their job is not to evaluate you or to make you an artist but just do what the curiculum says. They'd be fired quite soon if they told the truth. Y'all got nothing on my bunny or my filter rape. I had the worst art teacher, back when I made (some of) the stuff posted in this thread. Didn't encourage or even give good advice. She was a terrible critic. Just told me stuff like "this is really bad", "your drawings of people are horrible", "I really don't like this" with NO suggestion for improvement (or at least some lame, useless 'suggestions') and NO encouragement at all. Ultimately just made me feel like shit. I hate that woman.

I had an awesome art teacher. Yeah, he had to follow the curriculum, but he made sure people understood everything about whatever project we were doing and gave endless constructive criticism to whoever made an effort and asked for it. He also made us start every new unit with a research paper on the art movement it was based on. Also, I dunno if I have any old stuff laying around, I tend to destroy my shit after I draw it.

The quality of the art teachers depends directly on where they teach. If it's a public school, they either won't or can't teach to the curriculum. They're either just mean or they're holding back their creative juices (usually) because if they're more out there like an art teacher should be, they'll get in trouble. If you're going to a school for art or something or a private school, then the situation changes. It all just depends on who the art teacher has to answer to.

One of my art teachers slapped a 3rd grader and got fired. The guy after him was oriental and had us drawing pretty watercolor birds and roosters, and after him was the daughter of a local well-known artist, she was very nice.

He helps me bit with oil painting tough

By my friend got fucked over, the artschool sucked out all creativity of his. My recent studies have done the same a bit. I still get ideas that I like but I don't draw them cause I have to learn how to draw first.

I remember that I drew a bunch of comics that were based off of Splinter Cell, but I always threw in random shit. Each 8"x11" paper had about 120 or so panels. Mind you this is when I was [b]7[/b] so I could look for them later.
