So I woke up this morning like any other morning. Washed myself went downstairs, made a bowl of cereal and check my email. The weird thing was that when I moved the pc's cursor to the lower right field of my vision, I couldn't see it any more. But If I looked directly at it I could see it again.
I was unable to see things like the dot is in this little test:

Look directly at the cross with one eye closed and move closer, the dot will disappear.
This really freaked me out so I checked if it was just the pc, alas it wasn't. When I held something in the lower right part of my vision I was unable to see it.
I woke up my mother, we talked for a bit till I suddenly realised I couldn't see the left side of her face.
She immediately took me to the hospital. The weird thing was that my sight was returning back to normal while I was waiting for the doc.
He checked my blood pressure and did some tests to see whether I had brain damage anyway.
During this my mind actually managed to create false symptoms and I knew they were fake. My arm and upper lip went numb, but even weirder was that I forgot words. I was unable to use long words in a sentence.
The doc spoke to a neurologist and said they had no reason to believe that they had to do something and that it was probably just in my head. Now I'm back at home with only a light headache remaining.
Never been that scared in my life, thought I was going blind.
omg im blind
blind spot
This happens to me an awful lot, I suffer from migraines, though.
The temporary blindness doesn't usually accompany pains, but they are linked.
If you actually get migraines, go see a doctor and mention it. He'll give you some Omeprazole. It works awesomely.
do you wear contacts?
If you had been able to see your cursor you could've googled "Blind spot" and saved yourself the trip.
Hm yes the mind is capable of tricking you into thinking a lot of scary things..
I thought i had a weird bump on my head and actually got headaches and shit, Then my mom told me there was nothing and i should stop feeling.
Alas, The next week i forgot about it and now i feel nothing there :D

Uh. The brain can't magically create physical problems with your body.
If there was actually a lump, you probably should've seen somebody about it. It could've been anything.
Your mum sounds like she doesn't care.
Viral meningitis is a possibility.
I don't see what you mean. I've seen darker outlooks. Look on the bright side, at least now you can see what it looks like to be partially blind.
It's an Aura migraine.Actually it's normal and its just migraines.I get almost blind when i get a migraine too.
The chances of this being actually nothing are so slim it's insane. Migrane or Viral Meningitis are 2 likely causes. I can see shit in my lower right vision, the blind spot should be entirely unnoticeable, it's tiny.
Seriously man dismissing it as all in your head is really silly.
It's just Aura migraine I am sure all the symptoms are there.
Migraine + Numbness... Only had that once in my life (tip of the nose got numb, fingers got numb), usually its only migraine and a fuckin headache after that.
Seems to be somehow connected.
Migraine is somehow connected to my bloodcirculation, doing sports without drinking is shitty for me.
How old are you?
Migraine. I get this sometimes where I can't see things. It's annoying as hell.
i lose some of my nose vision

Why do you think that "test" that only shows that the eye has a blind spot somehow proves that you have some disorder?
[editline]01:26PM[/editline]
Also the test only works for the right eye. For the left eye you have to look at the spot and the cross will dissapear.

I think he was panicking because it proved that he actually had a blind spot, and it wasn't all in his head.
I freaked the fuck out when I first started getting temporary blindness. My entire left eye just stopped working altogether. It started out as a little dot and slowly grew.
It's fine now, though. Seriously, go see your doctor about it. The pills are amazing.
I'm not saying I just found out about my blind spot. I was using it to illustrate that it wasn't a black spot but more like unnoticeable empty spot.

Hmm I wonder if she saw the interior of her genitals with that.
Sounds like you had a migraine. If that's the case, take a tab of LSD one weekend and you will be migraine free for 6-12 months.

this is true.
Lol the thing in OP lets me see the cursor peep out the side of the blind spot :D
That's even worse than losing some of your ear vision.
Did it hurt when you look at the outer rim of your eyes? I had that too, also unable to see something, and it hurt when I looked at the outermost edge of my eyes. It went away in two days though.
Uh. The brain can't magically create physical problems with your body.
Explain that to all the pimples along my arms when I keep cleaning them and popping them
The neurologist said it was in your head and sent you home?
Make sure he has a real degree and not one that he drew on a restaurant placemat
Everybody has a blind spot. Don't freak out.
It's good that the OP was specific. He might have lost some of his ear vision, now that would really be disastrous. God forbid he ever lose his nose vision.
I guess the point of this thread was this? http://serendip.brynmawr.edu/bb/blindspot1.html ... common knowledge.
