I really hate the media at times like these. I mean it makes sense to spread the word, but they're going on about it so much that everyone at school today were using "swine flu" as a new insult. It gets annoying when stuff happens.

One of the possible causes of death is because the people in mexico are being treated when it is too late to prevent them from dying (which would make sense)

If this is the case (and it doesn't mutate to be resistant to tamiflu) then we should be able to deal with it (1st world countries definitely). Unfortunately there is no telling what could happen if it hits a densely populated developing country like India or China.

We don't want the virus to mutate further so it's better if it is contained as much as possible. I'm assuming 1st world nations will be fine, but that's if it's kept under control (the US for example only has enough tamiflu for 1/6 of it's population).
