I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks it's dumb to have eight different threads on the same bloody topic
Seconded. Also: map key, please.
I realize that, I'm simply saying that it isn't dangerous simply by virtue of being related to something that was dangerous a hundred years ago. I just realized. If shit goes down, North Korea will be the only country left.
Yes, it has first to prove if it is really that dangerous or not. But as long as we don't know for sure, it's better to treat it like it is dangerous. We know that it is from the same family as the spanish flu and we know what happened there, so we can estimate what could happen. Hm, got to call my old friend Kim Il-sung,
I hope China catches it and a shitload of people die.
I hope China catches it and a shitload of people die.
What about Japan? People on Facepunch have expressed approval of genocide over there. As for me, I'll have to infect myself with the KFC virus.

But really, I honestly hope shit goes down in China, they need something like this, for both weakening them and for population control. Mainly for destroying them.
So, were all screwed over?
Watched a news report about this earlier today and I loved the way they tried to get the public not to panic (UK by the way): They said that the chance of catching it is very slim and the symptoms are: 1) Sore throat 2) Cough 3) Fever 4) Tiredness and if anyone had those symptoms to call NHS Direct I am a bloody student, I have at least 2 of those symptoms constantly. I can't call NHS Direct every time I don't get enough sleep or get a hangover...
Perhaps the tiredness I can understand but always coughing or with a sore throat is excessive.
Smoking/drinking/stress is never a good combination.
I live in Texas, Houston, verrrrry neeeaaarrr Mexico. God fuckit I want a face mask now, I don't care if I look weird with it going to school and work, I want to be safe.
And is also extremely widespread, and becomes more so every passing day? And is also related to Avian Flu, and is in the same strain as Spanish Flu? Yep.
Spanish flu was maybe 100 or so years ago? in 1908-09? I think that was the time people considered you infected with the plague if you didn't have mercury leaking out of your ears.
I totally have it, runny nose soar throat and nausea since friday, i'm in Nova Scotia, Canada, my death will come soon.
HOLY FUCK! you are from Nova Scotia too?!

If you are worried about taking these, don't fret it, they'd be non toxic and much less harmful than opiate based painkillers, and even tylenol TL;DR
Dr. Robert J. Melamede, Director and Chief Science Officer, stated, "The influenza virus has a unique genetic make up that, in combination with its replicative machinery, has an extraordinary capacity to mutate. As a result, the high lethality of some strains can be attributed to the resulting adult respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). ARDS is caused by an excessive immune inflammatory response driven by Tumor Necrosis Factor (TNF) that leads to the death of respiratory epithelial cells and resulting organ failure. Endocannabinoids are nature's way of controlling TNF activity. Existing peer reviewed publications have shown that phytocannabinoids can prevent this cell death by mimicking the endocannabinoids that nature has selected to prevent excessive inflammatory immune responses."

"We have the science and preliminary anecdotal results confirming the anti-inflammatory properties of our new lozenges and indicating they may present an effective and non-toxic treatment for minimizing the symptoms and harm from influenza infections. Our lozenges appear to down-regulate the body's excessive inflammatory response to the influenza virus, which could reduce the deadly consequences of an infection into something that is more like a common cold. Because of my cancer and diminished auto-immune functions, even common influenza is a deadly threat, and I've had incredible symptomatic relief with the lozenge."
Basically your immune system normally gets destroyed by bird and pig flu, but cannabidinoids are natural immune system regulators and can help balance it out, effectively keeping you from dieing, and reducing the symptoms to that of a cold.
Oh and if you don't want to wait and need to take the law into your own hands.. don't smoke, eat. What you need is chronic use, not acute. Orally dosing effects last much longer than smoked, as well as being more efficient. If neccesary, prepare yourself some brownies using this handy recipe: http://www.applesoft.com/brownies/index.html Not that I condone this in any way, it is breaking the law.
Take your pathetic Pot-Smoking Habits somewhere else, Janco. Marijuana has its uses, yes, but it is NOT A FUCKING WONDERDRUG.
Take your pathetic Pot-Smoking Habits somewhere else, Janco. Anyone want to read the article and give their opinion?

How better to sell your products and raise your company than to sell a product and claim it cures the problem at hand?
Take your pathetic Pot-Smoking Habits somewhere else, Janco. Marijuana has its uses, yes, but it is NOT A FUCKING WONDERDRUG.
There are also detrimental effects.
I hate how all the militant vegetarians are latching on to this, and calling for governments to restrict meat eating, both to try and stop it spreading, and because apparently the meat industry caused this to emerge in the first place. I mean, look at this shit.
To prevent the mutation of viruses govts must release themselves from the death grip of industry. This human swine flu virus has been reported to easily mutate between humans, birds & pigs. Probably due to 2 factors: >Battery farming with pigs and birds in close proximity with humans for extended periods of time, AND/OR >Poor farmers literally living IN the excrement of pigs & birds. Remember SARS in 2003! We need to slow down on profit-making & focus a little on future consequences!

There are also detrimental effect.
I was just addressing the daily barrage of claims that Marijuana can cure any disease and disorder known to man, while also being among the hardiest, strongest, most nutritious plants in known existance.
2 weeks after first infection...
weed doesn't cure anything it just makes you a tool

Shit I have cold-like symptoms and live in the Houston area. The odds of me having it are unlikely though.

Better than a drug company pushing harmful drugs on us (alcohol, tobacco, anti depressants)

It's a Cali company, and legalization is on the table there, and has recently been getting into the heads of more and more people. Plus it would make obama look like a tool for allowing raids on medical growers (which he promised not to do but yeah whatever)
lol. Isreal's infected :P You know... Isreal. Jews. Jews don't eat pork.
