I remember that cartoon.
Or just avoid pig...
For the last time, it's being transmitted between people and that's why it's so worrying. It originated from a porcine form of the virus, and that's why it's called swine flu. Also, it's not being transmitted by pig meat, so don't worry about bacon.
Fuck! We have one in denmark
I think AIDS > Swine Flu, because it hasn't attacked any Africans yet :v:

Andry Rajoelina, the current President of Madagascar. Seems somehow relevant to this topic.

hhahahahaha swine flu hasn't been aroudn that long
it's like comparing a baby chick to a giant rooster
Swine Flu is considered pretty bad because it share many traits of the 1918 Spanish Flu that killed upwards of 100 million people worldwide. Vaccines are supposedly effective, but some sources claim that people are dying regardless of vaccination. Tamiflu and other medication is also supposed to be effective.

I was thinking, "Didn't this happen 80 years ago?" Good thing it can still get treated somewhat...
...for now.
helsinki was on the list, i am in helsinki i am near the port as well!
Naah, nothing to worry about. If we die we die, otherwise we get to play Left 4 Dead IRL.
It's a win win.

This swine flu thing is fascinating.. but at the same time it's quite horrible because of the deaths. I'm just interested to find out what will happen in the end, and if they manage to contain it.
it spread exactly like the normal flu, right?
so why don't people just like, do normal flu precautions and not freak the fuck out about it
Doesn't mean we can stop from getting it.
We can't stop getting it. Have you ever thought why we get colds every year? That is because the cold mutates so it is different, meaning that your body needs to work out how to stop it, before releasing the relevant antibodies to kill it off. The problem with swine flu is that your body can still be trying to work out how to stop it when it kills you.
I hear that there is an inoculation being worked on, but it will take some time.
Oh, and it's airborne, so nowhere is safe really...unless you seal yourself in a room with it's own air supply.

I bet pork sales will go down anyway. It's just like bird flu, stupid people not realizing that you can't get it unless you eat the chicken raw. In which case you will end up with salmonella or food poisoning.

It's not airborne. The virus spreads over bodycontact. Like caughing, sneezing or shaking hands.
Airborne would be that the virus can survive over a long time outside of a host body, which is not
the case right now.
oh great they have concerns its hit Australia's shores :|

Luckily.
Also, are there any confirmed deaths outside of Mexico?
