"The World Health Organization has said there is no evidence to suggest an "imminent" move to the highest flu alert level, six."
Um.
I heard that this virus is dangerous because it can cause pneymonia.
And pneumonia can be treated very well.
I guess they didn't have antivirals and treatment for pneymonia back 1918.

Nope, penicilin was invented 1941, as far as I know.

This is true. I read that something like 90% of deaths in the 1918 pandemic were cause by bacterial pneumonia (obviously we can treat that with antibiotics).
My media teacher told me that the media are blowing this WAY out of proportion. Theres not really anything to worry about if you take Tamiflu in the first 2 days, it just wont be very comfortable.

That's after the case of 1918.
Also; a pneumonia-mortality calculator:

I'm Class II, mortality 0.6 %
This is without lab-results.
Good news for Mexico:
"Mexico encouraged by fall in new flu cases"
MEXICO CITY (Reuters) - Mexico started a five-day shutdown of most offices and businesses on Friday to try to halt the spread of a deadly flu strain, and officials said they were encouraged by signs that the number of new cases was falling.
Health Minister Jose Angel Cordova said the public hospitals that treat roughly half the country admitted just 46 patients with severe flu symptoms on Thursday, down from 212 patients on April 20. "This is encouraging," he said.

Yes, I know. You treat pneumonia with penicilin and other antibiotics. Pneumonia is not
a viral disease.
I was answering to your guess

that's good then :)
Gah, I'm sick of the media.
They keep adding shit like 'deadly' and 'serious' in front of their stories about this.
Also, why the fuck did a Mexican fly to Minnesota during this? Pisses me off.
Also, rosthouse, I was wrong, you were right, YOU GET ALL THE PUSSY.
Some bloke in Norfolk is the first UK person to get the virus without being to Mexico, but was in contact with some people that came backfrom Mexico so it's not as if it's lept across the country.

Again, if you have an immune system exceeding a 8-year olds, and you have good hygene, you won't die.
EDIT: The worst it'll do is cause pnemonia, which is very treatable. I had it when I was four years old, and I'm not dead.
I've got an aluminum immune system, I feel pretty safe.
I've got an aluminum immune system, I feel pretty safe.
The virus primarily affects those with healthy immune systems.
As long as you wash your hands, cough into your elbow, and keep good hygiene and other health habits, your over five years old, and under seventy, you will be just fine.
If you do get flu like symptoms, just go to the hospital to make sure you don't have the swine flu, and stay at home for a week.
The media is blowing this wwwwwwwwaaaaaaaaayyyyyyy out of proportion.
I was flipping through Fox News, MSNBC, and CNN, and Fox News and MSNBC were just saying what I stated above, keeping calm and moving to other news.
CNN was a totally different story.
They had all there top people on, asking people to email them about "How has Swine Flu changed your life?"
Quite frankly they're morons, but you shouldn't expect the media NOT to make a big deal out of everything.
My avatar is nao protected.
Fuck. It's in Denmark now. They better have the cure / medicine ready.
Even though it has spread far, it has not killed that many and is not that dangerous. It doesn't infect many at all.
