hey i found some terrible symptoms
"The Swine Influenza Virus does not directly cause the death of its host, but because the host is solely focused on infecting or killing the non-Infected, it causes those infected to become disinterested in self-nourishment which will eventually cause death by starvation. Since the virus causes those infected to act with no regard for self-preservation, they will not act to evade mortal danger, such as fire or chemical gas.
The Infected experience spasms in the extremities, and their irises become blood red. They also vomit copious amounts of infected blood. "
i am scared.

Hey guys, I have flu. I'm not dead yet.
Is there any way to tell that it's not just the generic flu, not Swine flu?

Depends where you live.
You should still go to hospital, just in case ( This is my opinion, "better safe than sorry".)
Also, try not to infect anyone else, that could create panic.

Considering not all symptoms manifest in all people, it'd be hard to tell.
Are you in an area with conformed infections? If so, go to the doctor's.
Good thing that Bird Flu paranoia got the UK government to actually get a plan for this sort of thing.

What should you do if you think you are sick with swine flu?
Contact your health care professional, inform them of your symptoms, and ask whether you should be tested for swine flu. Be prepared to give details on how long you've been feeling ill and about any recent travels. Your health care provider will determine whether influenza testing or treatment is needed. If you feel sick, but are not sure what illness you may have, stay home until you have been diagnosed properly to avoid spreading any infection.
Watch for these symptoms in children. Seek emergency medical care if your child experiences any of the following warning signs:
Fever with a rash
Dehydration
Fast breathing
Bluish skin coloration
Slow to wake or sluggish interaction
Flu-like symptoms improve, but then return and cough worsens
Severe irritability
Children may have it at a more extended period of time

Thanks, that really helps and is comforting to know what the actual symptoms are. I can't exactly tell for all of these symptoms so I'll ask someone with medical experience. Thanks
why do people freak out so massively when this shit happens?
there's only like 60 confirmed cases
and the flu isn't that deadly if you are old, young, or have a shitty immune system
Avian flu I can understand because that took hold of an entire industry, but damn
Fixed.
Those killed in mexico are between 20 and 50.
It amuses me greatly that many of these cases are probably placebo induced.
It's mass hysteria at its finest.

Sweetheart, was that sarcasm? I can't tell through this box.
Oh damn...
The problem with that map is that those black areas could show just one death in each black country. So it mighn't even be that bad.
Sweetheart, was that sarcasm? I can't tell through this box.
Dead serious. Sorry for not making it a little more obvious. Thanks though.

you're welcome:
For adults, emergency medical care is needed if you experience these warning signs:
Difficulty breathing
Dizziness
Confusion
Severe or persistent vomiting
Pain or pressure in the chest or stomach
Remember that the symptoms for swine flu are almost identical to those you might experience with the regular flu. Only your doctor can give you the correct diagnosis.
Are there medicines effective in treating swine flu in humans?
The swine flu responds to the use of oseltamivir (Tamiflu) or zanamivir (Relenza) for those infected. For treatment, these antiviral drugs work best if started soon after getting sick (within two days of the appearance of symptoms).
I find it disturbing that I set the high score in Pandemic 1 the day before the mexican deaths were confirmed.
An update people:

Man this is bad, I haven't even started to build a bunker! I'm so unprepared!
Apparently schools have closed in the US states that are confirmed as infected. Damn.

Hope it spreads to my state then I won't have school. However, I could possibly die. On a sidenote I visited Mexico for spring break 2 weeks ago and noone I went with have any symptoms. It could be lying dormant and mutating though who knows?
I think I'll move to Iceland
