• Dubstep - V.Badman like good things. Badman like the best things, as a matter of fact

Everyone should experience sound system at some point. Unlike anything else. It's addictive though, you go somewhere after and it just sounds flat and empty and you just can't feel it. I've only heard Iration Steppa's system, it's just plain nutty. I'd like to take my mum to one of their events, she used to go to sound system events :v:.
I'm thinking about heading up to Glasgow for a soundsystem event, might go to Knockie for the festival and catch Mungo's Hi-Fi's (wow mouthful) soundsystem tho.
I enjoyed dubstep when it was still underground, can't listen to it these days. Mainstream media has truly stigmatized and milked it dry.

really enjoying this one, anymore similar to this?
@Lamar, you should check out some of Kromestar and Jay 5ive's stuff, Try Harder from the same EP is similar, Wishful Thinking on Bass n Love Records is similar too. Some of Om Unit's bits are on the same tip (his remix of Wishful Thinking is incredible). Arkist's Fill your coffee I suppose too, those downtempo almost hip hop vibes. There's no doubt more, but I haven't been up for too long so my minds a little foggy, these just the top of my head Quest's Smooth Skin is nice. It might be worth checking out Anti Social Entertainment, which is Silkie, Quest, Jay5ive, Razor Rekta, Underground Ice, Harry Craze, Mizz Beatz, Swindle, G Double, JazzyJazzy, Chef, R1 Ryders. All making music soulful sort of dubstep, Heny G might be worth checking too.
I enjoyed dubstep when it was still underground, can't listen to it these days. Mainstream media has truly stigmatized and milked it dry.
It hasn't really been underground for about 6 years. I'd say it really started to break through with Fabric 37. Yes it's been rinsed out by media in some forms, particuarly the screaming wobs, brostep sector, but there are so many good nights still being put on and so many producers making stuff for the heads
So apparently Dubstep will be ''laughed at in 20 years''. Fuck me this is annoying.

We have become the electronic version of the Emos. time to go cry
In 20 years I'm going to be 40, gonna be that dad who tries to make his kids listen to his old music and they'll be telling me to turn that old fogey music off. In 20 years, greats like King Tubby Meets Rockers Uptown will be nearly 60 years old. That seems weird. Anyway, dubstep is kinda moving out of the mainstream, trap and bubblegum garagehouse are kinda taking over. [editline]1st April 2013[/editline] Kinda oldie but goldie Girl Unit - Wut Almost verges on cheesy but it's such a tune. Also as we are on a new page let's try to post links rather than videos, it becomes too slow otherwise
Jakwob has been great recently. Love the original too.
I haven't listened to Dubstep in ages, man. Fuck. Some recommend something that will rape my ears please.
Why would we want to rape your ears? Picked this up the other day amongst a few other bits 2562 - Third Wave [editline]6th April 2013[/editline] Actually that said, coki might be up your street coki - Mid June Madness Scrambled egg bass
I haven't listened to Dubstep in ages, man. Fuck. Some recommend something that will rape my ears please.
Listen to some Zomboy or Excision or something.
I've gotten out of Dubstep lately. It seems like a ton of 14 year olds figured out how to make it and the result is just a TON of shitty tracks. I'm extremely into trap now...is there a tread for it?
Trap is literally the same thing right now. Go hit up the General Electronic thread.
Really liking the Clouds' USB Islands ep Clouds - You go to my head [editline]6th April 2013[/editline] Amen Ra has done a nice remix of this tune too
This thread is so dead. Where are all my dubstep skankers http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=edfSab-Mow8
I don't understand why there is no Doctor P on this thread. More flux. Special request. Downlink & datsik Oh and more doctor P. Because not everybody is a fan of obnoxious noise. Anyhoo, V.I.V.E.K's Asteroids is worth a listen (AKA the instrumental version of Over My Head).
I don't particularly like that style either but hey content is content.
Obnoxious noise is a good way to describe that style, I'll grant you that. I still find it it funky. Subtle and dubstep are two words that just don't seem to go together in my books.

DMZ - Ancient Memories Fitting track title because 2006 feels like it was ages ago.
Content Decent selection of tunes on that channel
I don't know if this is supposed to go in here so don't get mad if this is the wrong place
Truth - Don't Explain The whole Puppets album is fantastic, worth a listen.
