It is used mostly in a help thread, if someone needs help, you give it to the first person to solve your problem. Also, in the GMod section, when someone makes a useful script, SENT, SWEP, etc., you should be sure to give them a wrench for their hard work.

I never understood why people even bothered rating and about ratings. It's not they're saved or even matter in the first place.
About half of the descriptions are wrong.
And if you don't know how to use them you lack common sense.

i think that bad reading is rated when the post itself is bad readin'
for example, someone posts something lame, boring, or 'furry humor'

The annoying thing with ratings is that they'll tend to snowball. People will start rating a post and give it the same rating as the majority without reading it.
