Eh, most slaughter houses do the same, bleed animals out or start dicing it up whilst it's still alive. Difference is we don't see it happening.
Plus cultural differences.

Do you actually think preparing a meal you don't agree with should be censored?

I've been to a few slaughterhouses in my time, and while this is arguably true, what they do first is knock them out cold in a bath of some gas, I think it's carbonmonoxide, though don't quote me on that part, so they are completely unconcious. Then a special hollowed-out draining-knife is jabbed right into the aorta to drain enough blood to quite simply starve the animal of oxygen while it is passed out without strangling it or anything cruel like that. Except for a few seconds of cold before you pass out, that sounds like just about the most painless death you can get, especially on a practical industrial level.
Do you actually think preparing a meal you don't agree with should be censored?
Uh well it depends on that the meal is obviously - that's a pretty broad term. People eat a lot of things.
They aren't monsters at all guys for fucks sake.
They've been brought up in this culture, it's been taught to them that it's normal by their parents and more-than-likely also the media. The way we kill our cattle and poultry behind closed doors is hardly any different, only we eat it a lot later. It's a shame it happens of course, any westerner would probably agree, but it isn't going to change anytime soon.
I do feel awful for the frog, don't get me wrong, but to call them monsters is just ignorant. Hate me all you want for saying it.
That's fucking awful. I'm no PETA psycho but I really find it unsettling that they do this. That thing is dying a slow painful death and you're torturing the fucker. Kill it completely before you start tearing it apart. Fucking ugh.
This shit is precisely why I have difficulty fapping to asians

We don't even do this in western countries, what rock are you living under?
"A different culture eats thing differently this is wrooooooong"
so you're fine with people eating animals while the animal is still alive?

This is also really weird. Not as bad since it is dead, but I still wouldn't want to eat anything crawling away from me...
Is there some sort of toxic gas that covers the entire radius of Japan that just makes people go fucking insane or what
I'd say so

its dead actually, I think? Just how the muscles react after death.
and this shit is nothing compared to other countries

I've eaten a similar one before. You're supposed to pour to soy sauce and wait until it stopped moving for good (i think). I took a bite while its still 'alive' and the suction cup things still works and it was crawling everywhere in my mouth. Its like a bad tentacle rape dream only in real life and with much smaller tentacles.
so you're fine with people eating animals while the animal is still alive?
Buddhists or Indians or whoever-the-hell-it-is believe cows are sacred and probably feel the same way about us eating cow as we do about watching this.
Does that make it bad that we eat cow?

Exactly. It's all about culture. We're naive if we think our culture is definitively 'HANDS DOWN THE BEST'

hamburgers made of slowly murdered and slaughter cattle and turkey dinners made of abused and beaten birds
bitching about dead frogs dying

"because we don't see our food die, we're better." I'd say sums it up.

I think neither the American crap-food consumer culture nor the Japanese fucked up live-animal-mutilation-food culture is the best.

I at least think the Japanese way is more honest. They're exposed to how things are really prepared, not like here where most of us live in ignorance unless we do our own research.

I'm pretty sure that was just the twitching of the frog being dead at the end of it, without it's organs I can't really see it being alive through that. Oddly enough I wasn't really disgusted looking at the video, it didn't look half bad really, I've eaten some pretty weird stuff before, like this:

As long as you don't look at what you're eating, it isn't half bad with some salt added onto it.
[editline]14th December 2012[/editline]
Hell if people really think this is bad I wonder what they think of when you cook Crabs or Lobsters, you have to put those little guys in boiling pots of water while they're still alive.
well, it's fresh
This is almost as bad as being on 4chan when I was like 16 and watching videos of dogs being skinned alive.
:(
What's horrible is that frogs can actually feel pain. Even specific types of frogs, if you just touch their back, the oils on your fingers hurt them and make them squeel.
Couldn't have imagined what it felt like for the first ten seconds before he lost feeling.. after losing his entire bottom half of his body..
:(
I bet there is some logical reason for this.

Sorry dead cows aren't capable of feeling pain
You could eat any taboo animal for all I care as long as its not feeling pain and self-conscious

If you are doing it humanely you've stuck the lobster in the freezer for 30 mins beforehand, which essentially puts them into a cold induced sleep, chucking them straight into boiling water will kill them before they wake up, as they are effectively in a coma for the first 5 mins or so after taking them out of the freezer.
