Based on what I read on cracked, a frog is mostly driven by reflexes including a lot of rather precise movement. A reflex does not require the brain located in the head. So technically it's dead and can't really feel anything.Or at least brain-dead which is the same thing. After all frog is a cold blooded reptile and works a bit different form mammals.

Pretty much this. 'Industrial' halal, the one where you dip them in some form of gas knocking them out, then drain blood until they are dead still seems much, much more humane than jabbing a knife in the spine, even if this does kill it.
