Like I said, protecting characters for that reason would go against everything Kirkman does in the comics.
Comics =/= TV Show. The following for the comics can deal with death and shit but when you have TV shows which have viewer ratings, HIGHER POWER AUTHORITIES ON THE SHOW, and other influences, I really doubt Kirkman would kill off the main characters as gleefully as he would in the comics. [sp] Dale only died because of his actor, and even then I didn't really consider him a main character. Shane was meant to die from the beginning so it wasn't really killing off a main character... Lori was done for development purposes and she was, as everyone can recall, NOT a fan favorite, so he got away with it. Have you not seen those weird-ass posters "If Daryl Dies, We Riot"? Obviously not literal, but it goes a way to show the fan reaction to an ACTUAL main character dying who is also the fan favorite. [/sp]
They haven't really overdone it though [editline]13th March 2013[/editline] Oh yeah, wasn't [sp]Steven Yeun (Glen)[/sp] going to leave the show? Replacement or killing him off, perhaps
Glenn as in glenn mazara the show runner left the show. Not that glenn.

[sp]it was Allen whose leg was removed in the comics first, in almost the exact same circumstances as Hershel in the show. Dale wasn't until later, and under very different circumstances. On a whole though, Hershel really isn't much like his comic counterpart, they turned him into Dale. But even then, he was always more soft-spoken, even when Dale was alive.[/sp]
I don't mind killing off main characters, but I hate how TWD does it so casually. Take [sp]Axel and Oscar[/sp] for example. Personally, I think they had a lot of potential in terms of character development, but just like that, [sp]they're both taken out by an unceremonious bullet to the head.[/sp]

season 4 should be (comic spoilers)[sp]on the road, and dealing with the hunters[/sp] season 5 should be (comic spoilers)[sp]coming to Alexandria, with Negan being the villian[/sp]
Gale Hurd said that "this season we show the zombies as if they are not a problem" and "in season 4 we're going to see how dangerous they still are". So I'm looking forward to that.
Does anyone knows when season 4 begins? I really hope it wont be in september or even further...
October 2013.
Does anyone knows when season 4 begins? I really hope it wont be in september or even further...
Why would you have any reason to expect a shorter wait than normal?
New comic book issue is coming out today.
New comic book issue is coming out today.
I know, I'm pretty excited to meet this new guy. I'm hoping more occurs in it than the last issue, I was left a little dissapointed.

So I'm looking forward to that.
So what happens? Do they enter an area with an extremely high density of zombies? I'm guessing the group will also end up using up most of their ammo in the coming episodes so by season 4 they'll be resorting to melee weapons again.
have there been any references in the show to the walking dead game?
Wasn't this season's script being penned before or around the time of the game's release? There may be some references in the next season, but they'd probably be really brief. Like Glen saying something about him being in a group before Rick's, or something.
wait the game is cannon? does it take place while rick is in a coma or something?
So what happens? Do they enter an area with an extremely high density of zombies?
wait the game is cannon? does it take place while rick is in a coma or something?
Well, [sp]Shawn's[/sp] dead in the TV series, he isn't in the game. But then again, [sp]Game-Hershel didn't keep walkers in his barn. Seeing how unfamiliar he was with the walkers in the game could mean Shawn was the first one, though. I don't remember who Hershel tells Shawn to look after when Lee and Clementine arrives at their farm.[/sp]
[sp]shawn died for me what[/sp] there's two people named that though so
wait the game is cannon? does it take place while rick is in a coma or something?
The game is only canon to the comic series. Aside from Glenn being present, the only other link and or reference is the fact that Lee was on his way to the prison at the start of the game.
[sp]shawn died for me what[/sp] there's two people named that though so
[sp]Yeah, he DIES, as in he's alive when you meet him meaning if Lee was canon in the TV series, you know, stuff.[/sp]
Lol the new comic [sp] Michonne tells carl to get inside [/sp] I dont think they should reference the video game in the TV series, not many people will get it, and it would come from no where. Why would Glenn wait 4 seasons to tell Rick that he use to be in another group? [editline]13th March 2013[/editline] heres a quote in an interview talking about whats to come in Sunday's episode: [sp]I’d much rather discuss Sunday’s antepenultimate Season 3 episode, in which you’ll get a flashback to “simpler times” between Andrea and Michonne (and the latter’s “pets”); you’ll see Andrea train a gun on the Governor (but what, if anything, could stop her from pulling the trigger?); and you’ll be on the edge of your seat throughout a 10-minute cat-and-mouse sequence, ultimately uttering an expletive at your TV as it comes to an end.[/sp] the 10-minute sequence do you think that: (comic book reference) [sp] Its someone running to the prison to join Rick's group and the Gov chases him down and runs him over [/sp] Oh also Andrea is going to be on Talking Dead this sunday. Laurie Holden(Andrea) said she was excited for this episode. Welp theres a supposed summary of Episode 14. If its true, its going to be a very good episode.
God, the comic's arc right now... [sp] I can't wait to see Neagan fucking SQUIRM. I hope they go into full detail about how he dies, his last moments, etc. I've never hated and loved a character so much. [/sp]
The game is only canon to the comic series. Aside from Glenn being present, the only other link and or reference is the fact that Lee was on his way to the prison at the start of the game.
The game has comic-Hershel, comic-Glenn, and comic-Lilly. (the [sp]woodbury girl who shot Lori and the Governor[/sp])
I just realized that Tyreese and Coach are done by the same person, Chad Coleman. I remember thinking when I first saw the episode when they introduced him that I was thinking that he reminded me a lot of Coach. Little Easter egg.
The game has comic-Hershel, comic-Glenn, and comic-Lilly. (the [sp]woodbury girl who shot Lori and the Governor[/sp])
Wait, whom exactly are you talking about in the spoiler?
Wait, whom exactly are you talking about in the spoiler?
Lilly. The deal with her is, when they made the game, they planned for Lilly in the game to be the same Lilly in the comics. Sometime later(before Episode 3 of the game came out), Kirkman decided to write his own novel about Lilly, which would obviously have a different story than the game. So officially on the record: game Lilly is not comic Lilly. Unofficially she is. The one and only thing that changed was an achievement name [sp]referencing Woodbury.[/sp] So everything Lilly says and does in the game was meant to be taken under the impression she is comic Lilly. The game is cannon to the comic series. As far as Hershel and [sp]Shawn goes. In the comics, Hershel never had zombies in his barn until Shawn became one. Which is why there are none in the game.[/sp] The only issue I have with the characters being considered cannon is some of Hershel's dialogue. Hershel is a faithful Christian who scolds his kids for swearing. He will use language when he gets very upset though. In the game, if you say the right things, we will swear quite a few times very casually. Unlike the comics when he only swears when he's in rage after [sp]his kids died.[/sp] [editline]14th March 2013[/editline] The telltale game and the AMC show have no connection whatsoever. So no, there will not be references. The activison game, on the other hand, is cannon to the show and not the comics.
The game has comic-Hershel, comic-Glenn, and comic-Lilly. (the [sp]woodbury girl who shot Lori and the Governor[/sp])
I forgot about Hershel, but Comic-Lilly and Game-Lilly are confirmed to not be the same person, as explained above. Also, just read the new comic issue and I just gotta say [sp] hahahah the fucking knights and the kingdom. its so over the top but I can't imagine a better end to Negan than at the hands of Rick being backed up by a bunch of medieval knights [/sp]
