2.8 million per episode budget
PRETTY SURE IT ISNT GETTING CANCELLED GUYS
Not to mention the viewer records it's broken. Season 3 premiere had nearly 11 million viewers. That is completely insane. Breaking Bad and Dexter, two of the most popular dramas around, average 1-3 million on premiers. While TWD was 5 million, 7 million, and 11 million.

its not broken, they have a ton of viewers.
The walking dead is a lot bigger than the two you mentioned.
wat
thats what he said

That's what he's saying. He's saying it broke viewer records. If The Walking Dead was a person playing an arcade game, it would have beaten the high score.
the season 3 finale will probably have somewhere around 14 million viewers

Yea I re-read what he said and totes misread it.
Carl get back in the house is no longer an appropriate title for the thread... should have been "Lori pls go"
Finally 100% caught up. It feels good.
Also why all the season 2 hate?
A little bit of discussion for anyone who's kept up with the comics:
(obviously, spoilers ensue)
[sp] How the fuck can zombies still be a problem anymore? With groups like the saviors and ricks group slaughtering them by the dozen, after 3 or so years surely the number of zombies must of dropped massively? Even taking into account that everyone is infected, everyone knows this and always goes for the head anyway. Even if a group the same size of the savior group were to suddenly die and become reanimated, and this happened on a daily bases, it still wouldn't be a sustainable zombie population, as everyone is so hardened to killing the things. [/sp]
I really like the latest episode. It made me realize I'd love if the badass characters talk to each other a bit more about life instead of mostly Carol talking about that stuff.
comic spoilers: [sp]In one of the recent issues Eugene found that once in the trench that had become too weak to move. I think that might be foreshadowing that same thing happening to all of them. But remember, America's population is fucking high.[/sp]

I'm thinking at [sp]about the 5-7 year mark, we will stop seeing zombies all together, and sometime in that, Carl will take over. [/sp]

[sp] I really wouldn't mind if thats how the comic series ended, with the zombies officially being declared as a non problem, and carl left with a group of decent size left with the goal to rebuild society, the only things standing in his way being other groups. Kirkman said that it won't have a necessarily happy ending, or would things 'ever go back to the way they were', but if they were to end it off like that it'd be pretty open ended [/sp]
comic spoilers
A local radio station of mine is having a phone interview with Robert Singleton (T-Dog) later today about a book he is writing. They kept calling him "Big-Dog from Walking Dead". It was pretty embarrassing.
I think Morgan is played by the best actor in the show, he is just so good
[sp]i think this is a long term problem for pretty much every zombie apocalypse scenario, especially these zombies considering they keep rotting and need to eat; after 3 years all the original first outbreak zombies (aka almost all of them) should pretty much be useless rotting bones[/sp]
well, you have to consider, there's at least a few billion zombies or so out there, by default
amd i'm assuming zombies decay slower than humans because they're held together with plot spackle
Goddamnit why [sp]did Axel have to die? I liked him and his moustache.[/sp]
i fear this to be right oh god
No, that's not going to happen. She's way too big in the comics, and she's too new of a character in the show to kill off regardless.

[sp]he didnt go back to the car when he was asked[/sp]

I cringed when [sp]Michonne warned rick about the traps, and he uncovered all the knife blades hidden under the door mat.[/sp] Just the thought of that going wrong.

[sp] How does Morgan, in all his unstableness, manage to avoid all the traps he set in his own house? like seriously, that little trip wire...I would accidentally trip over that if I was insane and by myself doing the same shit day after day. [/sp]

Some insane people have great memory abilities [sp]especially about remembering things they're obsessed with[/sp]
I thought [sp]Morgan stabbed Rick in the heart[/sp] and I shat myself. Turns out it was one of those stabbings that you can shake off.
I wish he would have. It would be so unexpected, just think about it.
That would throw everyone off.

I thought that was a bear trap?
I understand the reason why Rick didn't do it, but...
...I totally would have saved that backpacker guy.
Am I the only one who just can't take Carl seriously?
I know he is supposed to by 13 (i think) but he look like, and is the size of, an 8 year old.
Seeing Rick act the way he is lately gets me thinking about how I personally would handle the situation that they're in, especially when it comes to letting people into the group/leaving them out.
I would at least let new people have a chance to prove themselves to the group under a controlled scenario, like keeping them busy behind a secured area of the prison. If they prove helpful to the group, I'd let them hang out with the others, but still keep a firm eye on them until I'm sure they're absolutely okay.
He IS eight years old in the comics after a while. He's originally seven.
He's about nine in the comics right now
How many years have passed in the comics/TV series since the outburst?
